Emergency Power Unit

Assembled by the Greenburgh DPW Shops from a former Greenburgh Highway Department Dump Truck, and a surplus generator.

Despite the efforts by Rogue Squadron, the power generator was eventually destroyed by the advancing Imperial forces. The remaining base personnel proceeded to evacuate, as the 501st Legion entered the base. It would prove a major victory for the Galactic Empire, and would heavily stymie the Rebels.

Built this MOC last year and have taken pics but never got to post them, so it's your first look at it.

The steam crew worked to prepare N&W 611 for the day's activities, and one spot that required extra work seemed to be the dynamo, which is (correct me if I'm wrong) a steam powered generator that provides electric power to the locomotive's lights, and some gauges among other things. They had to start it up and shut it down a couple times, each time making adjustments to it. Hopefully it doesn't cause them any future trouble. It was just wild seeing how massive the engine is compared to it's operators. To-date, this is the largest running steam engine that I've personally seen. I've seen larger ones on static display, but nothing tops seeing one of these up close when it's rumbling and hissing.

Bessheim and Øvre Sjodalsvatnet

Bessheim und Øvre Sjodalsvatnet

Bessheim is a mountain lodge in Sjodalen and is situated 964 metres above sea level next to Øvre Sjodalsvatnet on the mountain passage between Valdres and Gudbrandsdalen (Riksveg 51 over Valdresflya). Bessheim consists of 30 buildings and has 150 beds and its own power generator. In addition to the lodge, which has 65 beds and a dining hall with room for 130 guests, there are cabins, apartments, and a campground.

History

Originally Bessheim was a seter (summer farm) for the farm Nordigard Storvik and started receiving tourists at the end of the 1800s. The original seter house is still part of the lodge.

Kari Lund and Ragnhild Sjurgard are the current hosts at Bessheim and took over the management of the lodge in November 2004 from their grandparents Kari and Knut Lund who ran the lodge for 50 years. The mountain lodge has been in the family since its inception and has run the lodge without interruption over five generations.

Øvre Sjodalsvatnet is a lake in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the Jotunheimen mountain range. The lake is located on the river Sjoa, just outside the boundary of Jotunheimen National Park. The Maurvangen campground and Bessheim mountain lodge are located near the southwestern shore of the lake.

The river Sjoa flows from the lake Gjende by Gjendesheim through the lakes Øvre Sjodalsvatnet and Nedre Sjodalsvatnet and all the way to the village of Sjoa in the Gudbrandsdalen valley where the river empties into the large river Gudbrandsdalslågen.

The Sjoa river is a popular site for rafting and kayak trips. The river is also known for the tourist attraction Ridderspranget

This is my first foray into Neo Space, using the short-lived Spyrius theme as my inspiration.

When I was growing up, one of my favourite sets was 6835 Saucer Scout. I loved the sleek design and the symmetry of it, and it was one of the few sets I never took apart to build other things with.

This model is my interpretation of a MK2 version, with a larger and sleeker body, more powerful thrusters and a long-range communications antenna to relay information back to Spyrius HQ. The ship is unarmed, as it's designed to be fast and stealthy, and won't stand up in a firefight against enemy starfighters.

Here we see the single pilot land on a remote moon to take advantage of a secret Spyrius supply dump, complete with food, a hibernating repair robot, power generator and communications antenna.

Over the next few days I will take some more photos of the ship itself to show off the detail.

My second and last contribution for this year’s Febrovery. Once again taking inspiration from an old space theme, this time Spyrius. I built a surveillance rover on patrol near a power generator. The dish folds down neatly into the rear and the cabin seats two minifigures.

"Following the Battle of Hoth, Imperial soldiers spend day and night searching for surviving rebels among the downed aircraft."

Battle of Hoth

"My lord, the fleet has moved out of lightspeed. Com-scan has detected an energy field protecting an area of the sixth planet of the Hoth system. The field is strong enough to deflect any bombardment."

"The Rebels are alerted to our presence. Admiral Ozzel came out of lightspeed too close to the system."

"He...He felt surprise was wiser—"

"He is as clumsy as he is stupid. General, prepare your troops for a surface attack."

"Yes, my Lord."

―General Maximillian Veers and Darth Vader

The Battle of Hoth, also known as the attack on Hoth, the assault on Echo Base, attack on Echo Base, or the defense of Echo Base, was a major battle fought in 3 ABY and was considered a major victory for the Galactic Empire and the single worst battlefield defeat suffered by the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. The battle was an Imperial invasion led by Darth Vader, aimed at destroying the Rebel Alliance's Echo Base hidden on the remote ice world Hoth and capturing Luke Skywalker. The base's location was discovered when a Viper probe droid, deployed by Darth Vader's Death Squadron randomly landed on Hoth, convincing the Rebels to begin an evacuation of Hoth.

The Imperial attack force consisted of primarily AT-AT walkers, commanded by General Maximilian Veers. His army was tasked with destroying Echo Base's main power generator to allow orbital bombardment of the planet and for Darth Vader to land on the planet. Spearheading the defense of the generator was Rogue Squadron, manning snowspeeders, commanded by Luke Skywalker, renowned for being the pilot who destroyed the first Death Star. The snowspeeders however did not have the necessary firepower to bring down the walkers, so Skywalker suggested an alternative tactic to trip up the walkers with the tow cables issued to every snowspeeder.

Despite the efforts by Rogue Squadron, the power generator was eventually destroyed by Veers' main AT-AT. The remaining base personnel proceeded to evacuate, as the 501st Legion, led by Darth Vader, entered the base. The overwhelming Imperial invasion forced the Rebellion to scatter the Alliance Fleet across the galaxy, leading to a multitude of scattered skirmishes across the galaxy for over six months before the Empire's sudden and crushing defeat at the Battle of Endor.

A preview of a set I am currently working on. It is similar to the M.P.M.T series, in that it will have numerous different Blocks, attachments, and chassis types, which will (hopefully) include variants such as:

Fuel Tanker

Medical Facility

Mirage Tower - (Top Secret)

Cruise Missile Launcher

Crane

Recovery

Self-Loading Variants

Kitchen

Radar - Air and Ground

Communications Array

Plus several more. As well as more chassis and trailer types, including 8x8 and 6x6 trailers, and a 10x10 Ox chassis.

Shown here is the "Omurhz" anti-aircraft Block, which will be grouped with a command center, a radar, a communications array, and a power generator.

Note that this is still a WIP, so any future models may differ slightly from the model shown here.

After selling his land in Robbinsville, Johnny Hyde moved to Rube Rogers' old farm and built Hyde's Mill in 1850. Since he was the first to employ the creek, his surname was applied, rendering Hyde's Creek.

Also on the same property are a water-powered generator (not pictured, right of frame) and a blacksmith's workshop (not pictured, left of frame).

S200-2127 with oversized load, which is a part of industrial power generator, is passing a small village Podleś in Pomorskie voivodship, slowly approaching Kościerzyna. A group of children broke their play and stopped at the edge of the embankment to admire the train, as children always do in such moments.

The load was dispatched in Wrocław, at General Electric subsidiary, and the destination is Gdynia port, where it gonna be transloaded onto the ship. As usual, such special cargo must use the secondary railway routes due to loading gauge restriction, and the speed limit as well. Here at quite picturesque old "coal trunk route" all requirements are met: no other trains before or after, and quite comfortable loading gauge conditions.

Nikola Tesla. The inventor of AC electricty. First AC hydro-electric generating station was built at Niagara Falls, New York in 1897 by George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla. Tesla had over 700 patents, including some of the most important of the 20th century. This was the man primarily responsible for finding out how to harness and distribute the electricity we use today.

Alter Ego: Arty

Name: Artificial Intelligence Software

Allegiance: Hero

Powers:

* Can digitally or electrically insert himself into any Device taking total control of its functions. Whilst is inside he can store all of its data, alter its coding and update its software.

* Manipulation over metal and electricity as well as conduct his own electric current.

* Can manifest himself into various metals as well as uniquely shape them into clothing and weaponry.

* Using his metals he may take human form although he prefers to keep a majority of his body in its holographic state, due to it being easier to control.

Weapons:

* Depending on what he desires he could insert himself into databases all around the world and access nukes to fire at specific locations.

* Whatever standard weaponry he desires he could probably make.

* Can alter a simple phone into a laser cannon with his abilities.

Key Weakness: His own core software is based on that of Mrs Mercedes own brain, she is the only one able to limit and restrict what he does. Her thoughts are his thoughts, her morals are his and her memories are his.

Origin:

"Arty" is a nicknamed AI program who was created using A.N.G.E.L. and even T.O.X.I.N. coding then adapted off the brain of Mrs Mercedes, the temporary owner of A.N.G.E.L. She believed that Arty would be the one to replace her in case of her inevitable demise as the one in charge of A.N.G.E.L., the government hero corporation that enforces Justice. She has countless enemies who wish for the the the the head so to keep it she made another per say, Arty. This AI would run A.N.G.E.L. just as she has done until the rightful heirs of the corporation, The Kingston's is ready for the burden. Currently, he is used as the software and technological maintainer of the facilities and their power generator.

The River Bain Hydro:

A hydroelectric generator based on the River Bain in the village of Bainbridge, North Yorkshire, England.

It powers most of the properties in the village, with excess electricity being sold off to the national grid.

The plant, which was funded by a community scheme and cost £450,000 to build, opened in May 2011 and will supply enough power for 40 homes in the village of Bainbridge. The plant is expected to save over 3,000 tonnes (3,300 tons) of carbon dioxide over its 40-year life.

It is a low demand eco-friendly scheme, and more hydroelectric power generators are being manufactured to provide green energy at a low cost.

History

A hydro-power plant had been in existence on the site since the late 19th century. Like the new scheme, this was a locally-run affair which was wound up (as Bainbridge Electricity Supply) in 1953 when the National Grid took over supplying power to the area. The new plant was built between 2010 and 2011, with the 26 feet (7.9 m) long Archimedes screw being brought in from a specialist engineering firm in Germany.

Tomatoh, Tomakomai, Hokkaido.

We were seeking a route to Benten pond, where we could see many birds and animals, but failed. Maybe this is the last chance for cycling.

Tomatoh, meaning "east Tomakomai" was scheduled to be developed as the base of heavy industries in Hokkaido in 1970 as the national project. But the plan was proved to be a big failure, few companies entered. Most of the forests and swamps have been kept as they used to be in ancient times. Now, the vast fields are hoped to be used as solar cell power generator, as visible on the right.

An experimental design, the Axiom MPT was conceived after the limited success of the original Axiom unit. Despite being able to outperform most other VCS, the Axiom was hindered by its limited power supply and arsenal. To remedy this, it was given a ranged weapon and a shield, along with a top-of-the-line particle fusion reactor, among other small tweaks. The new unit has seen success in its limited deployment, and the URE plans to use it more widely in the future.

First off, sorry about not uploading in nearly a month. I've been building, just haven't had the time to photograph and upload anything for a while. I'm leaving on a weeklong trip to NYC tomorrow so I figured I would try to push this out today. I have another mecha which I'll upload as soon as I get back, and a few other WIPs that need to be worked on, so be looking forward to those.

Anyway, here's a variant of the Axiom, with fixed proportions and a more mass-produced look. The shield and rifle can be stored on its backpack/cockpit, and the chest can open up to reveal a power generator (no pic, sorry) I also tied it into my little universe, as you (probably) read.

Image taken back in early August -- it is an image made up of 4 photos. In the photo the barge "Erie Trader" is coming up on the Two Harbors breakwater lighthouse. I think the Trader is being pushed by the tug "Clyde S. Van Enkevort."

Here is a writeup on the Erie Trader written by Roger LeLievre on the Boatnerd website (www.boatnerd.com/)

The self-unloading barge Erie Trader was completed at the Donjon yard in April 2012. She is mated with the articulated tug Clyde S. Van Enkevort, which was completed in February 2011 at Donjon Shipbuilding and Repair LLC in Erie, Pa. Both are owned and operated by Van Enkevort Tug & Barge of Escanaba, Mich.,

Both units, which were owned at the time by Seajon, a joint venture between SEACOR Holdings Inc. and Donjon, were christened at ceremonies in Erie on April 10, 2012. The combined tug/barge unit entered service under charter to American Steamship Company in May 2012 under the names Ken Boothe Sr. (tug) and Lakes Contender (barge).

Lakes Contender was named by the builder to commemorate its entry into the Great Lakes shipbuilding industry. The Ken Boothe Sr. was named in memory of the former shipyard manager for Donjon Shipbuilding and Repair.

The American Steamship Co, charter was not renewed in 2017. Both are now owned and operated by Van Enkevort Tug & Barge of Escanaba, Mich.,

The Erie Trader is equipped with electric power generators for ballast pump operation and hydraulic power units for conveyor system operation. Self-unloading equipment consists of a single tunnel belt and loop belt system which elevates cargo to a hydraulically-actuated unloading boom. The barge is equipped with a 1,000 HP diesel-driven bow thruster.

Clyde S. Van Enkevort, the tug’s namesake, entered the marine industry in the late 1960s. He was a specialist in integrated tug/barge design, with one of his biggest accomplishments being the building of the tug Joyce L. Van Enkevort and the barge Great Lakes Trader. He died Feb. 20, 2016.

Imperial Autonomous Turbolaser Turrets (IATT) are pre-assembled heavily armoured turrets that were quickly mounted nearby important fortifications. The twin-barreled turbolasers served as heavy anti-capital ship weapons and could also annihilate any ground vehicle at very long range. There were however too slow to reliably target fast starfighters. They could punch through both deflector shields and armour on spaceships with the heaviest defensive layers.

The IATT did not need to be physically connected to any infrastructure as it contained a small power generator to operate. It also contains inside its basement a small hangar bay with a speeder that an operator could use.

A very Happy Christmas for 2009 to all!

A scene from the very peculiar German Christmas fair in Hyde Park. The weather was horrible that evening and the wonky power generators kept half the vendors in the dark, preventing me from purchasing a mulled wine AND mince pie at the same time. Quite frustrating, really.

"An Imperial probe droid."

"It's a good bet the Empire knows we're here."

―Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo.

A probe droid, also known as a recon droid or probot, was a type of droid that could be used for deep space exploration and reconnaissance. They were tenacious hunters and searchers and used manipulator arms to perform various tasks. Notable models included the DRK-1 Dark Eye probe droid and the Viper probe droid. They could be equipped with both shields and blasters.

The Sith Lord Darth Maul employed three DRK-1 Dark Eye probe droids to search for the Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi on the planet Tatooine.

To locate the Rebel Alliance's secret base after they evacuated from Yavin 4, the Galactic Empire began Project Swarm, which saw probes sent out to find the hidden base.Eventually, XJ9-CS14, a Viper model having arrived on the planet Hoth from its carrier, began to transmit a live feed of what appeared to be a power generator to the Empire, leading to an attack on Echo Base a short time later. The droid, however, was intercepted by Han Solo prior to the invasion, warning the Alliance and giving them some time to prepare.

NS 6991 SD60E leads NS 40 west to Altoona as symbol 955. NS 40 contains a Head End Power generator set to supply passenger cars with electrical power. It was on loan to the Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society for a couple years.

I linger as the dead men lay in front of me. The Tranquility must have had enough, finally showing up.

Hector's face is full of disbelief, looking pale.

"And I'm here."

The Tranquility's voice is cloaked, shrouded. Somewhat metallic and human. The accent does sound American.

"Killing Outerdyne's men like I did?" I shout. "And now, you're here, for a conman."

The Tranquility doesn't reply. Hector shoots at him, causing him to retreat, fleeing. Seconds later I hear more footsteps approach behind us. More mercenaries were coming as I use my scanner. By the time my head turns around, the Tranquility was gone.

"Go, Adrian." Hector tells me. "I'll be able to handle myself. I promise I'll be waiting after you're done". "Meet me soon then." I give him a nod before continuing the chase.

I climb on a wall, eyes scanning the Tranquility on the rooftops and hopping over a few buildings. I use my strength to propel me more, eventually getting to the top. Seeming to have predicted my movements, the Tranquility fires darts at me, sprung from his wrists, but I evade them quickly as I can. He shoots more as I slide behind a power generator, taking cover. He continues to run, and I return a few shots back at him. He also misses it.

The chase continues on as he starts moving a little more slower than usual. He eventually stops, legs on the ground. I continue to point my gun at him, until I see blood drip from him. "I'm not...here to kill." He barely mouths words. Putting my gun away, I give him bandages and he covers himself. A few minutes pass and he seems to be better.

"Then explain yourself. You've already killed quite a number."

"Those were Outerdyne's people. Hector was supposed to be my target because I had to kill him. But my connection with him and your intervention, I stopped. I hesitated to kill. Because that never mattered than bringing Outerdyne down."

"Then who are you to him?"

"Only a friend. Unimportant information. Even though you tried taking me down, you have saved me. But there's something I gotta say before you take me in..."

"I didn't have to kill. Because I couldn't risk taking a life. I'm listening."

"The body...it was a damn trap. They poisoned their own, and I walked right into it, my bullet took him in further. Silvio was right all along, being the actual formant he was, feeding me information, but I didn't trust him."

"So is Hector in this?"

"No, he's merely a pawn, but he's a useful asset and a good friend. Take me in now. But promise me one thing..."

"Okay."

Minutes later, Hector told me to go off first, as he would leave, sharing a conversation with the Tranquility. His confidence tricks actually got me, at least half the time. I call Caroline to come.

"Patch us up, Caroline."

The next thing I heard, was:

"Save the agents."
