Detail of a vent within the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin. Straight from the camera - the vignette on the left is because I haven't corrected for the lens in Lightroom.

The enormity of the banal is the context of our monument. The project manifests the instability inherent in what seems to be a system, here a rational grid, and its potential for dissolution in time. It suggests that when a supposedly rational and ordered system grows too large and out of proportion to its intended purpose, it in fact loses touch with human reason. It then begins to reveal the innate disturbances and potential for chaos in all systems of seeming order, the idea that all closed systems of a closed order are bound to fail.

Potentially my next project along side my Nova... Popped a note through the owners door last week and got a voicemail the next day from the owners daughter inviting me to go and view it. It belonged to her father who sadly passed away in December and appears to have been sat since. Long and short of it is it needs a lot of time and love as it has been quite neglected over the past 18 months but nothing beyond my capabilities I dont think. Loads of paperwork with it and the original bill of sale! I made an offer and am just waiting on a reply.

This is a reupload as I didnt take any photos of the car on the day!

A Merry Christmas holds all the colours of the visible spectrum and all those in the electromagnetic spectrum that are not visible to the human eye. Somewhere between the waves forms within the move through Dawn, Noon, Evening and Midnight we have heat and light set to bring us much both outside our potential to change and enough inside ourselves for to fuel the potent ways we weave about our worlds to find a smile and warm a heart, to share a moment and to greet and depart. Within the weave there is great chance for good and both determined and happenchance for bad. The strongest and weakest forces all around us continue whether we either make the bad, or create the good. The feeling self glows and empowers our souls towards the better places and we have the chance to give fates warm threads to leave as our traces in a vast cosmos seemingly uncaring we can find love for giving and sharing.

You put strike-anywhere matches in the little dish, and then you to actually strike the matches on the side of it. Neat, eh?

The marks from the match strikes become decorative.

Silverton Mountain, best place ever. There is a ton of potential here (figurative and m*g*h). Haven't been on the skis yet this year, but last year's trip down to Southern Colorado keeps me juicing to get on the hills.

So happy I can finally upload this (I shot it last week). I think for future reference all of my 52 week project stuff will be from the week before.

Like one frame of film, we all have potential, waiting to be unleashed.

But probably Scintillant. Tail feathers do seem rather green though - I wonder what the range of variation is?

Any Great Central railway gala, i always look at the best pace for these types of passing shots. Both locos facing the right way. In reality they were around 45 seconds from passing each other at this location. With the wonders of Photoshop, I have made it happen. I took this photo at my son's house last month. This flower is probably a bona fide squash by now.

An Indian River Tern scanning the skies for any potential threats. Unlike most Sterna terns, it is almost exclusively found on freshwater, rarely venturing even to tidal creeks. The sexes are similar but juveniles have a brown head, brown-marked grey upperparts, grey breast sides and white underparts. The bill is yellowish with a dark tip. The River Tern feeds by plunge-diving for fish, crustaceans, tadpoles and aquatic insects in rivers, lakes, and tanks. Its numbers are decreasing due to the pollution of their habitat.

i have a studio in my home, and lately, it makes me feel very cooped up. walking around san diego, i happened upon this building with studio space for rent. it seemed like it was calling to me with its charley harper esque front door mural, so i made an appointment to go check out the interior later today.

hoping for the best!

do any of you have studio spaces in or out of your home? i'm finding that at home, sometimes i'm not able to focus or stay motivated & it has become quite frustrating. also, i love the idea of having a space where i do work not related to my shop or business. like, it could be my painting studio only. not my design studio - and definitely not my EMAIL studio. good god.

on a side note, if any creatives in san diego would like to potentially share a studio, please email me at susie[at!]boygirlparty.com -- not sure if the offices here are big enough to share, but i like the idea of sharing.

The trend of amber fashion with cinnamon brown touches would be started by this one...
