We had just booked into our overnight accommodation in North Iceland and were ready for bed. The only trouble was our bedroom window had a panoramic view over skagafjordur, (fjord), and its delta. On this particular night the sky was literally on fire as the setting sun tried, but ultimately failed, to drop below the horizon. We were treated to a fireworks display that lasted for hours as the sun tracked across the mouth of the Fjord. We pulled up a couple of chairs and sat there looking out of the window in awe.
Skagafjörður is about 40 km long and 15 km wide, situated between Tröllaskagi to the east and the Skagi Peninsula to the west. This is one of Iceland's most prosperous agricultural regions, with widespread dairy and sheep farming in addition to the horse breeding for which the district is famed. Skagafjörður is the only county in Iceland where horses outnumber people.
It is a centre for agriculture, and some fisheries are also based in the settlements of Sauðárkrókur and Hofsós. The people living in Skagafjörður have a reputation for choir singing, horsemanship, and gatherings. There are three islands in the bay: Málmey, Drangey and Lundey (Puffin Island).
The bay is located in a submerged glacial valley which is continued southwards by a plain in which lies the delta of the Héraðsvötn river. The main settlement of this valley is Varmahlíð.

From my visit to AZ. I got to crash a figure drawing session and sit in with my old mentor and friends. This was about 40 minutes. Not so happy with the proportions or color choices here, but figured I'd post anyway.

Getting missy up Friday VERY early, and making HEr report for maid service. Cleaning up extreme messes in the homes (and especially kitchens!) of two client houses after Thanksgiving day. I was so overly generous giving her Thursday off!!

"On my way out of the campground, I saw an abandoned log cabin, so I decided to go see if it had anything useful. I get there, and I find a really old FAMAS. It had most of the original parts, and it could still shoot.
Now, it is one of my most useful weapons. It is actually relatively easy to find 5.56 rounds, at least around here.
I'm hoping to find something that isn't so beat up. It would also be nice to find at least one survivor..."

#37/365 Post Process Fridays episode #2: Today's feature is a photo from the lovely Corinne aka şkinful.
This is a great shot...I love portraits that are more natural and not posed. Corinne picked the perfect time to capture this moment. I really love the blue wall, so for the post I wanted to bring them out more. I also brightened up the subject which also brought out her shadows (To correct this I did a lot of cloning and healing). I don't mind the shadows on the right so much (and lets face it, I'm lazy). Hope you enjoy this photo as much as I did! Happy Pee Pee Friday!
