Das Centre Pompidou in Paris wurde auf Initiative des ehemaligen französischen Staatspräsidenten Georges Pompidou von den Architekten Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers und Gianfranco Franchini entworfen und nach einer fünfjährigen Bauzeit am 31. Januar 1977 eröffnet. Das Gebäude wird als erste bedeutende Loslösung vom architektonischen Diskurs zwischen Modernismus und Postmoderne verstanden.

Pompidou Centre is a complex in the Beaubourg area of the 4th arrondissement of Paris. It was designed in the style of high-tech architecture.It is named after Georges Pompidou, the President of France from 1969 to 1974 who commissioned the building, and was officially opened on 31 January 1977 by President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing.The Centre was designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano; British architect Richard Rogers; and Italian architect Gianfranco Franchini, assisted by Ove Arup & Partners. The project was awarded to this team in an architectural design competition, whose results were announced in 1971. The outside of the building reflects the modern art that is held inside. The Centre shows that High-Tec style will be the future.

Der Strawinski-Brunnen, auch Tinguely-Brunnen genannt, ist ein Brunnen auf dem Igor-Strawinski-Platz (Place Igor Stravinski) am Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Er wurde von dem Schweizer Bildhauer Jean Tinguely zusammen mit seiner Lebenspartnerin, der französischen Künstlerin Niki de Saint Phalle, entworfen und 1982/83 ausgeführt. Er setzt sich aus 16 beweglichen und wasserspeienden Einzelplastiken zusammen, die in einem riesigen Wasserbecken (3600 × 1650 × 35 cm) verteilt sind. Ihre Gestaltung bezieht sich auf die wichtigsten Kompositionen des russischen Musikers Igor Strawinski.

It was created in 1983 by sculptors Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle, and is located on Place Stravinsky, next to the Centre Pompidou, in Paris. The fountain is a shallow basin of 580 square meters located in Place Stravinsky, between the Centre Pompidou and the Church of Saint-Merri.
