A needle point sample of tissue taken from an ascomycete fungus, as seen under a compound microscope. You can see the ascospores lined up in the tube-like structures (asci). There are 8 ascospores in each asci (this is usually, but not always the case, from species to species). The way the spores are 'arranged' in the asci often varies too.

I Post-it (marchio depositato della 3M) sono dei foglietti di carta colorata o altri materiali la cui caratteristica principale è essere semi-adesivi. Con il marchio Post-it notes sono oggi commercializzati diversi prodotti adesivi per la cancelleria.
I Post-it sono prodotti in varie forme, colori e dimensioni, anche se il formato tipico è un quadrato giallo di 7,5 cm per lato. Sul retro è presente una striscia di adesivo piuttosto debole larga circa 1 cm, che permette di attaccarli e staccarli su varie superfici piane. A metà degli anni '80 fu lanciata una versione di blocchetti con le strisce adesive su lati alterni, che possono essere inseriti in un dispenser e staccati singolarmente in maniera analoga a quanto avviene con i fazzoletti di carta.
L'adesivo originale usato nei Post-it è stato inventato nel 1968 da Spencer Silver, un ricercatore della 3M. Egli stava in realtà cercando un nuovo adesivo potente, e inizialmente non trovò pertanto alcun uso. Solo nel 1974 un suo collega, Arthur Fry, pensò di usare quell'adesivo per creare dei segnalibri, mentre guardava un innario in uso nel coro della sua chiesa. I primi prototipi furono disponibili nel 1977, e nel 1980–1981, dopo una poderosa campagna, il prodotto fu posto in vendita in tutto il mondo.

Yesterday the weather got crazy here in Curitiba and when I looked at the window the trees were dancing and I had to take photos. I hope you liked that stop-motion. It's simple but made me happy. Really!

..... icicles like those in this short series are relatively rare here ... it was great to see them there for a while on Sunday. These were formed on low branches and twigs overhanging some water ... I couldn't get very close unfortunately.
