…… there were dozens of lilly pads on the water, but what caught my eye was this shadow of some grasses on the bank …. you can just about see some lilypads beneath the surface of the water …..
.... we're back at that gorge again, on the wooded hillside, where the river was rushing down from the hilltops over huge boulders which lined the gorge. This is a shot of a smaller rock on the river bed. The water was skimming it, and the sunlight on it, was making a fantastic liquid light show.
.... a close look at the reflections on the surface of the loch, blended with the bigger landscape ....
(I'm away for a few days, in a place very similar to this actually. Thanks for all your visits.... see you soon.)
For the Macro Monday challenge "Paper" (Feb 5th)
That is the interesting outcome of some recent research comparing typing to handwriting information 'input'.
In our digital age where writing is seen as old-fashioned, outdated and increasingly a dying 'art', we are constantly being pushed towards a digital 'paradise' where paper no longer has a place. But recent research comparing brain activity when hand-writing with computer keyboard input has revealed that many more areas of the brain are used when writing on paper ... and the level of brain activity is very important in retaining information in your memory. Among many other aspects, writing by hand imprints the look and shape of each letter as we write - a keyboard is just an identical key-press. I would suggest that this shows the importance of teaching children how to write both at school and at home!
That said - I am a devoted digital user, who writes with pen on paper every single day!! And I'm delighted to be a completely 'double' minded oldie 😊
PS. the rolled paper in the shot is a Post-It note!
The research was found in a New Scientist article

this one's a bit grainy, but I liked the radiating shadows …. when I saw them on the water, they reminded me of images I've seen of the Hindu goddess, Durga ….
I want to congratulate, DD! have you seen her? HAHAHA!
Here`s my formspring. Feel free ;)

In Portugal, a classical prank to the newlyweds would be one package of sugar spread inside the bed, or maybe a bed with the upper and lower sheets sown together, Much more creative this one,,,
Are you really happy when you see your enemy in pain? I GUESS NOT.

Love, axo q eu coloquei isso no meu armario pra sempre lembrar de amar, as vezes axo q eu esqueci q isso é legal e faz bem...

..... the rectangles on the hill are where they burn the heather ...it apparently creates good shooting grounds for the lucrative grouse shooting season. They're highlighted when we get a little bit of snow.
They call the start of the grouse shooting season, 'The Glorious Twelfth' because it begins on the 12th August. Not much glorious about it if you happen to be a grouse!
Essa foto é um obrigada para a Paola, que fez um post muito fofo sobre mim e minhas fotos (e que eu fiquei super feliz).
