That little logo down low needs some lovin'. Union mark inspired: BCS Namesake up above, Dept. of Raw Power moniker down low, Gears turning round and round the border, The B, The C and The S, 6 inch rule, double lightning bolts, Skull Cap and Shield logo, protractor keeps things on point, and the Straight Edge X for strength holds it all together. And the friendly reminder to "Make it Here" above the skull cap.

Poster design for my typography class. We were asked to define (and then display) a list of typefaces we liked and come up with a concept in which to present them in a poster format.
I decided to focus on 5 sans-serif typefaces that I personally think are 'easy on the eyes' and 'good looking'. ;)
It's a poster design for social media and web.

I teamed up with a friend to make our rendition to the song "Dirty Paws" / Of Monsters And Men (which we both like a lot), so taking advantage of our own fanatic passion towards the band, we created an illustrated interpretation of the story, from our own unique perspective. We developed our concepts separately and then get together (virtually) to join our pieces into one project. This is my version of it.

The striking cover to this, the November 1925 issue, of Commercial Art magazine. At this early stage in the magazine's history the cover was usually commissioned from an artist or designer whose work appeared as an article in the magazine as is the case here.
Frank Gayton (1893 - 1961) designed packaging and other items of 'corporate identity' for several companies, including Leicester based Frears, the biscuit makers, and Somnus beds. The article that quotes this image notes his skills and. Gayton, who was to head an advertising agency based in Leicester, also designed a typeface for the London & North Eastern Railway in c.1923/24 that was also adapted for use by the typefoundry of Caslon.

La Mission, a new independent movie produced by Benjamin Bratt & his brother Peter Bratt (Peter also directed it) had its debut on April 9th in New York & California and in a few weeks will be showing in other cities in the US and around the world.
La Mission stars Benjamin Bratt, Erika Alexander and Jeremy Ray Valdez among others. It is one movie whose progress I've been following & very much wished to be part of the production & editing team.
By now La Mission has won the:
** Special Jury Premio Mesquite Award at the 2010 Cinefestival in San Antonio,
** Human Rights Award at the 2009 Artivist Film Festival,
** 2nd Place Audience Award at the 2009 Los Angeles Latino Film Festival.

The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. Work is ongoing at this site, which is around 1.5 kilometers east of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum in Lintong, Xian, Shaanxi Province.
In order to promote the world heritage, I photographed a series of Terracotta images in Xi’an, China, and designed the poster campaign in the summer of 2014.
