The bulk of this old fence post has rotted away leaving the inner structure of the tree from which it was cut on show.

The original post would have been 3" in diameter, this remaining core is a little under 2".

Getting missy up Friday VERY early, and making HEr report for maid service. Cleaning up extreme messes in the homes (and especially kitchens!) of two client houses after Thanksgiving day. I was so overly generous giving her Thursday off!!

Taken at our friends' home near the Pacific coast in San Mateo County, California.

Log day 4:

"On my way out of the campground, I saw an abandoned log cabin, so I decided to go see if it had anything useful. I get there, and I find a really old FAMAS. It had most of the original parts, and it could still shoot.

Now, it is one of my most useful weapons. It is actually relatively easy to find 5.56 rounds, at least around here.

I'm hoping to find something that isn't so beat up. It would also be nice to find at least one survivor..."

Northern Flicker on fence post

A couple natural-haired pics from Monday after a makeup tutorial at MAC.

I have tried to photograph post boxes as the object in a variety of locations to show aspects of city life which would clearly place the boxes in an urban environment. As a body of work it would be clear it was London. It was more difficult than I thought as often the boxes were not in great locations or were obstructed or cluttered. Trying to take the shots in a short period of time too was a challenge and it would be better as a longer term project.

I think my recent renewed playthrough of Bethesda's Fallout 4 can easily be blamed for this particular portrayal of Prague's famous Dancing House, also called Fred and Ginger. Dancing House was designed in 1992 by architects Vlado Milunić and Frank Gehry and completed four years later. It was always controversial building, not only for its design, but also because it was heavily supported by first Czech president Václav Havel (who is controversial personality here these days as well). Its site was also originally the location of a house destroyed by the U.S. bombing of Prague in 1945.

"The infamous Mosin-Nagant rifle...

I found it in an abandoned armory in CO, and it still shoots. Fortunately, 7.62x54 rounds have always been easy to find out here, so I shouldn't run out of ammo.

Almost everything here is abandoned, except for some buildings and houses with the infected. They're easy to kill here, but what happens when I leave?

...Russian Roulette seems like a good idea, now that I think about it...
