🌿✨ Children's Walk for Environmental Rights 🚶♂️🚶♀️

We took a little step towards a sustainable future! 🌍👧👦

Lyari's Girls Cafe Foundation collaborated with ARADO’s #LocaltoGlobal and #Tdh.

Organized Children's Walk on Environmental Rights to empower the next generation of eco-champions.

Children waiting for their rights had raised banners and placards. Deputy Commissioner South Altaf Hussain Sario participated in the walk held on children's environmental rights. A large number of women including children of Lyari participated in the walk.

🌳 📚 Kids learned about their environmental rights and the role they play in preserving our planet.

🎨 Little artists expressed their love for nature through eco-friendly art projects.

Let's amplify their voices and champion environmental rights for a brighter tomorrow! 🌈💚 Together, we're nurturing a generation that values, protects, and advocates for the planet. 🌱🌏

Thanks to all the participants, volunteers and supporters who supported the great cause of children.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead ~ American author, speaker, and cultural anthropologist

In order for positive change to occur, there must be a leader. There must be that person who is so distraught with the way things are, that they are willing to do whatever it takes to inspire others. But the best leaders don’t lead from afar, they make each new follower feel accepted, feel as though they are now leading as well.

The purpose of great leadership is to create just one new follower, one individual who believes just as strongly that change is inevitable, that change is necessary. It is actually the first follower who makes the largest impact because they show others that something important is about to take place. Those who would normally fear change, who fear stepping out from behind the safety of the group, are persuaded by that first follower. But it is the responsibility of the leader to make that first follower feel accepted, feel as though the original idea is theirs as well.

We always talk about leaders but it is the followers, those who make the idea their own, that encourage others to do the same. Many people can speak about what needs to be done, but it takes those who are not afraid to follow, who are not afraid to leave the comfort of the crowd, who are not afraid to walk into the dark abyss of uncertainty, that make change possible.

It is then, and only then, that the late adopters, who would otherwise continue living the way they always have, feel as though they too must join in. The best way to inspire those who fear change is to show them that if they stay put, they will no longer be a part of the crowd, they will be the outliers. Great leaders use the fear of the masses to their benefit by showing them that what they should be most afraid of is standing still.

It is that first follower who shows others that there is something worth changing for. A huge movement does not occur all at once, it takes a small group of those unwilling to live as they have, that ignite a passion inside those who would otherwise think only of themselves.

We must not be concerned with being the first leader because it is the first adopters who truly are the catalysts for positive change. It is in following that we lead others to do the same, that we show others this is the path to take.

What we should be concerned with is just standing still. Movement is life. The question is: in what direction are you moving? And who are you following?

We are all leaders when we encourage others to do the same. And we are all followers when we realize that others will watch to see where we go.

(Rajagopal speaking on October 2, 2007 at the beginning of Janadesh 2007, a 350 km walk from Gwalior to Delhi by 25,000 people)
