This one is a bit of a disappointment for me. I wanted to get to this light a little earlier but traffic and a wrong turn did me in. Add in the fact the temps are about 20 degrees with a stiff wind (real feel about 13 degrees) and it was time to make the best of a bad situation. Took several long exposures and this was the best of the bunch but it's not the shot I wanted. I guess I'll just have to go back again some day. ;-)

Portland stone is a limestone from the Tithonian stage of the Jurassic period quarried on the Isle of Portland, Dorset. The quarries consist of beds of white-grey limestone separated by chert beds. It has been used extensively as a building stone throughout the British Isles, notably in major public buildings in London such as St Paul's Cathedral and Buckingham Palace. It is also exported to many countries—Portland stone is used in the United Nations headquarters building in New York City, for example.

1.3 Megapixel Samsung Camera Phone
This is from a series of close-up self portraits I took with my 1.3 megapixel camera phone in downtown Portland, Or, around 7 in the morning on Saturday, June 16th, 2007.
This is an odd, somewhat high contrast self-portrait, but I do enjoy the man vs. nature that occurs in the background, as well as the intense brow ridge and shadows that play across my face.
Not so sunny the previous day. The route onto, and back off, this rock, via the hand/footholds in the slab of stone leaning against it, was not something I was ever likely to be attempting myself.

Oh, what a beautiful beast! I knocked on that mighty bumper. It was like striking a cast-iron radiator.
If only I had a garage to shelter her from the elements. Well, since it probably lacks seat belts, I wouldn't want to risk driving it anyway. So there!

"Here’s a nice little Buick Sedanette, wonderfully restored to factory stock! It draws its power from a 248ci Straight Eight engine with a Dynaflow automatic transmission. It’s nicely finished in the original color of Niagara Green and has a nicely stitched Gray cloth upholstery. The chrome and stainless is in very good condition throughout, especially the grill that’s so impressive on these cars. This is nice, smooth driver and runs excellent."
