Portland Head Light is a historic lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The light station sits on a head of land at the entrance of the primary shipping channel into Portland Harbor, which is within Casco Bay in the Gulf of Maine.

Hosted on April 4th, 2015, Portland Day offered the local community an opportunity visit our new campus home, the Arlene & Harold Schnitzer Center for Art & Design, and to participate in some fun, free activities. We made robots, did some face painting, and had an awesome time!

We visited Portland Wharf just as one of the fishing boats docked and became aware of a seal that had followed the boat in. The fishermen threw some of their catch overboard to the seal and it had a great time playing with it in the water, throwing it up into the air and chasing after it. The seagulls were trying and sometimes successfully, to get the fish before the seal could get to it. It was absolutely wonderful seeing this beautiful creature so close to the wharf doing what I've only ever seen it do in a documentary.

Lauren and Frank took the Empire Builder (Amtrak from Chicago to Portland) for a visit to the Pacific Northwest. Lauren is Allie's first cousin once removed (his dad's cousin). We had a great time together!
