Displayed here is Portable station (James Rojas) an example of the tool used in the process of DBUP - design based urban planning - in which the members of the community partipate actively. It's meant to de-mistify the planning process and translate conceptual planning ideas like housing, public transportation open space into physical forms and thru this foster and facilitate public participation.

"Los tamaleros" (Vendedores de cabezas de horno)
This seems to be a portable snack bar.
From a scarce CDV album of mexican occupationals made by the studio "Cruces y Campa" in the 1860s.
The album contains 40 views of occupations, vendors and marketeers, a portrait of a woman (maybe the owner) and a view of the "three Naoleons". So maybe this album had been brought from Mexico by one of the soldiers of the emperor Maximilian.
...even though it's only a few meters from my house. This is my 1982 Questar (rebuilt in 2017) on an iOptron iEQ45 mount.
I'm going to have a look at Jupiter and Mars tonight—the first clear night in forever. Maybe even try to get a photo, but I'm not skilled at planetary photography. That's a Point Grey Flea on the back of the Questar.

Temporary toilet typically used in locations ranging from construction sites to large gatherings such as open air music festivals.
Haalua & Parathas are popular breakfast item among city dwellers in Dhaka. Some who can afford eat these in fancy hotels, & those who can't afford luxuries can eat from such trolley based sellers.

This is one of the few clear case prototypes known to exist. There were usually 10 or less clear case prototypes of each model made during the design process. They were used by engineers to check for fit of internal components.
Nearly all plastic case components are clear plastic, including the handle & internal mounts for components. There is no serial number on the case & also none on the motherboard. The colored Apple logo insets are not present, although the space for them is. The case has some very minor differences than the production model (a few extra plastic bits here & there).
Beverages on wheels, just not sure how they got a fire going in the back seat without ruining the upholstery. This was a most interesting and humorous find at the threshers' reunion. Great joke! Wish the car owner would have been handy to discuss the vehicle with as I suspect it was not and inline engine under the hood and it has certainly been lowered. the company logo is a riot.
An iPad (or similar device) can serve as a portable light box for viewing and inspecting photographic negs, in this case square 120 film negs of Manchester Cathedral and the interior of the Barton Arcade taken with a Yashica TLR camera.

This is the interior of the cigarette tin I found and adapted. I spray painted enamel inside the cover for a mixing area. I made little pans out of Fimo, baked it, and then attached it with two dabs of silicone glue. I added a Micron pen, pencil, Flair, a cut down brush and a sponge. I still need to find a wee sharpener and an eraser, maybe something to scrape with. Total cost, about $6.00. I can't wait to try it!
Extra toilets were added to this rest-stop along I-95 for Hurricane Dorian to help handle a lot of people traveling, but they were placed on parking spots.

A DIY Oak box for my Big Jambox, bluetooth audio/podcast from my phone, take it anywhere, sounds awesome!
The kids’ school-at-home days (and it feels like there will be more of them this winter) have been difficult for Ahja because I’m cycling between them so often, so thought I’d try something so Ahja could ride along. (She has been comfortable in the cat-pocket sweatshirt, but it doesn’t support her weight very well while moving or standing unless I use an arm for extra support.) We’ll see how it goes.
This tube portable is Japanese-made and sports the Holiday brand name.
What really caught my eye was the large black tuning dial. It is not reverse painted but rather a thick "glass-like" plastic. The back cabinet is a sea foam green color (same color as the handle)
I have also seen an example of this radio branded as a Carlton.
We always think of Japanese manufacturers only producing solid state sets. However tube radios survived into the late 50's and even early 60's. The technology was cheap, proven and trusted.
The tube compliment for this radio is - 1R5, 1T4, 1S5, 3S4
Actually many of the Japanese four tube radios utilized this tube line up.
