He doesn't look in too good a form here, does he?
The poor old codger.
Never mind. It'll soon be New Year.
I expect that he'll buck up then!
These poor gawky birds have to compete with wild ducks who have flown in from the outside world for the food in their dispenser. Is this some kind of cruel game?
They cut the poor big tree down to stop people gathering and gambling there... well, that's one way of prevention...

DIdn't have the guts to photograph him from the front. Just after this picture was taken he went into the store to buy some booze.
When we came out of the library this afternoon there was this melancholy little dog patiently waiting for his owner ...
Whip-poor-wills, wetland birds, and warblers were seen near Rondeau’s shores over the weekend. The spring migration is well underway. The whip-poor-will is listed under the Endangered Species Act. Find out more about whip-poor-wills in the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas: www.birdsontario.org/atlas/atlasbook.jsp?pg=224.

A very suspiciously laying dead mole at Miami University's Peffer Park...what nice white teeth he has too.
I was out photographing birds this morning and this fellow happened along across a stream that feeds the CT River in Wethersfield, CT. I watched and waited for him to fall through the ice - there was open water 20 feet to his left. I had my cell phone and I was prepared to call the fire department for a rescue. Thankfully, he made it across and was coming toward me. He was all alone - there were no people anywhere around. When he got closer I called him thinking he'd be glad to come to me. He turned tail and headed right back across the river. Again he made it and he only looked back a few times. I called the Animal Control people in Wethersfield and offered to help catch him but I haven't heard back from them yet.
