I've always loved natural pools. Making plants and fish balanced enough to keep a pool clear and clean enough to swim in is an art. Bedding them in so they look perfect in their environment is another skill! So mixing this dream and my experiences of drooling over the greenhouse pools of plants at Kew Gardens inspired me to create my own version when I saw this great build from Trompe Loeil.

Day nine
Last day in Berry ~ awwww.
We got up earlier and had our last breakfast, which consisted of potato tots (?) and bruschetta and eggs I think. I can't remember if we had eggs or not. Anyway!! After breakfast, we started to clean the mainhouse and poolhouse. It took us a while to do that and pack all of our things up. But, it was fun believe it or not.
We had a little visitor at the front door; a beautiful red bird, whose name escapes my mind right now! He/She was so cute!!
Once everything was finished, we got into the car, where Pert read a text message from my Mum saying that we could stay an extra few days. Gosh, if he had only checked his phone sooner!! :( Oh well. Next time!!
Our roadtrip home consisted of music, dumping our rubbish, seven mile beach which is where Sandy is sitting in this photo. It was gorgeous weather, which was a shame because we could have relaxed at Berry and swam! Sigh.
We drew our names in the sand, took photos and searched for sand crabs (no luck there). We also saw this beautiful golden retriever who came and said hello.
We continued driving and stopped for lunch. There's a story there but I won't elaborate! Haha, turns out we had been on the road for something like 3-4 hours. We were taking our time alright!
Got home and hugged Mum & Dad. Said goodbye to my beautiful friends :( Gnaw and headed inside. I was back home, facing reality. This week I get my HSC Results ahhhh!! Save me.

Shot for an architect. Addition onto the existing pool house. Several flash frames and two ambient frames. Had a light outside the window camera right, and several pops handheld all around the bar area. The room was very dark, and I generally don't like the look when lights are on, so I have a hard time judging this photo for myself. Really would love feedback!
PS - that custom table seats 18 and cost $50k!
With Jake's surgery and work, I feel really guilty about even posting a picture. Some really great people have told me to post them anyway. I appreciate the kind words and patience. I'm at work tonight, but I don't want to be. Have a good weekend. Faith turns 5 on Saturday. ;)

I've come to know this corner of the Lune Valley fairly well, by visiting it specifically for the landmarks of the Lowgill Viaduct and Crook of Lune Bridge and as a through-route to the western side of the Howgill Fells.
At the far right of the background, Old Scotch Road drops steeply to Beck Foot, the core of Lowgill 'village'; I usually descend that steep hill having left the M6 motorway at Lambrigg (J37). A tiny road then passes under the disused railway viaduct, ~3½ km away, following an unnamed tributary stream to the River Lune. Crossing the floodplain (which does flood) and the very narrow bridge over the river (comfortably wide enough for a small car with one mirror folded in!), the road enters the Yorkshire Dales National Park, climbs the glacial terrace on the south-eastern bank and leaves the left of the image. At Four Lane Ends it meets Howgill Lane, the Roman road crossing the foreground of the image, 1¾ km away.
Apologies for the slightly odd colouration. Facing towards the sun (sort-of), the light was rather hazy, and processing to improve contrast simultaneously intensified the colour. I managed to minimise the blue colour-cast, but it still looks a bit artificial to me.
Ordinarily, I'd try a monochrome version instead, but the blocks of colour provide useful definition – in monochrome, the Lune vanishes into the adjacent fields which, surprisingly, have a near-identical brightness to the water and gravel bar.

One of the poolhouses at the abandoned Candler Mansion. Asa Candler Jr (the heir to the Coca Cola fortune) lived here. He called the mansion Briarcliff. On the grounds were a public pool, private marble pool, 9 hole golf course, private zoo (he later donated the animals to help get Zoo Atlanta off the ground), greenhouses, and private gardens. The mansion and its grounds were later sold to the Georgia Mental Health Institute. The grounds destroyed to build a rehad hospital and several "cottages" that housed patients that had to stay for extended lengths of time. The cottages were connected via underground tunnels to the main hospital building. Briarcliff was turned into offices, patient rooms and schoolrooms for the patients.
