My first genuine plate from French Polynesia, spotted in Paris! One of my most distant plate ever!

Distance from home: 15'710 km

I built this for an art history project where we were supposed to build a pavilion to represent a country (Polynesia). I was rushed and built it in one afternoon. You can make out the shapes of the islands I chose to represent: Rapa Nui (top left), Hawaii (right), Nuie (bottom left), Rarotonga (bottom center), and Fiji (central two islands).

Bora Bora and its famous lagoon. Ia ora na! A flight over the French Polynesia is rare as they are small in the incredibly vast Pacific ocean, and our orbit doesn't take us over the area often – let alone that I have time to grab the camera. These wonderful islands look just as wonderful from 400 km above. Enjoy the beauty of the atolls and the archipelago. This area too is under threat from climate change and experiencing coral bleaching, but I hear the local youth have started an initiative to replenish the corals...💪
