I have found one good thing about polyester. This piece was stitched and gathered and coins were bound. Then thrown in almost boiling water. Now the fabric is permanently altered.

This is more of a couch throw. It was made for me in the 70's by my grandmother. The squares are 8 inch blocks crocheted together with gold varigated thread.
As polyester does, it has not faded.
