Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Abbreviation: PolyU) is a university in Hong Kong whose teaching units are grouped under six faculties and two schools: Faculty of Applied Science and Textiles, Faculty of Business, Faculty of Construction & Environment, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health & Social Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, alongside with the School of Design and the School of Hotel and Tourism Management.

The school was founded in 1937 as the Government Trade School. Located in Wood Road, Wan Chai, the School was the first publicly funded, post-secondary technical institution in Hong Kong.

After World War II, the school became the Hong Kong Technical College in 1947, offering both full-time and part-time courses. The year 1957 saw the opening of the new premises of the College in Hung Hom. The College offered the first accounting education program in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic was formally established on 1 August 1972, taking over the campus and staff of the Hong Kong Technical College. Its mandate was to provide professionally-oriented education.

Having gained approval from the University and Polytechnic Grants Committee for self-accreditation of degree programmes, the Institution assumed full university status on 25 November 1994, changing its name to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Today, PolyU is an institution of higher learning and offers more than 130 postgraduate, undergraduate and sub-degree programmes, supported by more than 1,000 academic and research staff members from different parts of the world.

We were so lucky to have an oven. I never did any baking though - shame. But, as Western cooking goes, we grilled a lot of toast, made pasta and had a successful Pancake Day!

Void Pirate WM - 01 Inferno

Based on a prototype design the Inferno packs a variety of updated technology to increase the performance of any Void Pirate mecha pilot. Lt. Viper can often be seen teaching new recruits and although despised by some is respected by most. If you see this coming for you on the battlefield it's already too late...

Design:

The Inferno is a complete redesign of the Widowmaker mecha I created a very long while ago. Now using Stud.io instead of LDD, the MoC is completly buildable, stable, newer elements, posable and contains parts that exist. The centre torso is completly new as is the weapons (MML still modified).

Very much inspired by Armored Core, a game I loved growing up and still play from time to time.

Armament:

Shoulder warheads

Arm warheads

Karasawa Laser X-00

Hermes MML - 02S

Polyus Satellite Cannon (Stolen from a decommissioned Russian Satellite).

UKSS Overview, Energia on the Transporter/ Erector, being installed on the Launch Pad. This must be for a test, since the Energia has no Cargo (the Energia has been launched just two times, with the Buran and with the Polyus – both times were successful (but the Polyus failed).

This Canada Study Tour is a most fruitful and rewarding informal learning experience for our students. During the period, students are exposed to the Canada welfare policy and service system. They have a first hand grasp of how the social, cultural, economic and political structures impacting on the way the welfare system is organized and delivered. Many students also shared that they have widened their horizon and developed a global outlook.

Professor Amy Rossiter, Professor Narda Razacl. Professor Varpu Lindstrom, other colleagues and students of the School of Social Work, Your University have stimulated us on the issue of diversity and oppression. We were inspired by their scholarship. Since everyone was so involved in the sharing and discussion, we left with a lot of delicious food behind but more food for thought on our way. We thanked them for their hospitalith and we would definitely have more discussion and exchanges in the future.

We are honored to acknowledge the following agencies for sharing with our group their vision, aspirations and achievements in serving those in need:

Canadian Mental Health Association, Toronto Branch

Centre for Addiction and Mental Health

City of Toronto Protocol

East Metro Youth Services

Sherbourne Community Health Centre

Under the Banyan Tree

Yee Hong Centre - Scarborough Finch

York Region Children's Aid Society

(In Alphabetical order)

Our deep appreciation is extended to Wu Chie Hong, Kwan Mei Ling, Dennis Chan, Annie Leung, Elizabeth Chun and all the social work Alumni members for assisting us to arrange the visits and coaching us to unerstand the Canadian culture. Mr. & Mrs. McQuarrie have driven miles to meet us and have graced our lives with their spirit to serve. The passion and concern from both the APSS Alumni and the Hong Kong PolyU Eastern Canada Alumni have supported the group's learning, encouraged our questions and inspired our growth. We give special thanks to Ms Pauline Tsang and her committee members.

We are grateful for the financial support provided by the Tsim Sha Tsui Dictrict Kaifong Welfare Association and a big thank you goes to Mr. Yau Chun Ying who sponsord the expenses for five Mainland students.

We owe a great deal of gratitude to our Department. Our head, Profesor Angelina Yuen has provided guidance and encouragement to support the all-round development of students. Ms Angel Shing has helped a lot with sorting out the accommodation and flight arrangements.

Finally, we thank Connie, James, Karen and Annie for putting this report together. The students have promised that they would remember what they have learnt and would contribute to serve those in need!
