The Lions are a pair of pointed peaks (West Lion - 1,646 m (5,400 ft); East Lion - 1,606 m (5,269 ft)) along the North Shore Mountains in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. They can be seen from much of the Greater Vancouver area, as far as Robert Burnaby Park in East Burnaby, south to parts of Surrey, and from the west on the Howe Sound Islands and the Sunshine Coast. Along with the Lions Gate Bridge named in their honour, these twin summits have become one of the most recognizable Vancouver landmarks.
Dragonfly chooses the lotus blossom bud as its perch for the moment. This may be a variety of Meadowhawk but I'm uncertain.
I haven't been out with the camera too often in the last 2-3 weeks. The reason for this was constant rain almost around the clock. So I did some digging in the archives.

This photo was taken by my husband.
The reason: My camera was set up wrong, which caused all my photos to fail. He took a few photos that I pointed out.
Scarlet Robin sitting on a fence paling. This image was taken with a compact zoom, then severely cropped and as a result rather noisy, so I played around with app Mextures to get a more artistic look.
Piazza Città di Lombardia in Milan Italy is an impressive architectural complex known as the largest covered public piazza in Europe.
The court has a distinctive "eye-shaped" or ogival (pointed arch) plan, characterized by curvilinear, rounded shapes that create a unique aesthetic and even a distinct acoustic experience. The design is intended to echo the natural landscape of the Lombardy region, such as rivers and valleys.

In the visual arts, interlace is a decorative element found in medieval art. In interlace, bands or portions of other motifs are looped, braided, and knotted in complex geometric patterns, often to fill a space. Interlacing is common in Islamic art and in the Migration period art of Northern Europe, especially in the Insular art of the British Isles and Norse art of the Early Middle Ages.
Winter is stubborn here, not letting Spring in, they seem interlaced... now and then a few moments of Spring fragrance in the air... then it is gone again.
But, the earth is moving, breaking the cold crust, green tips are showing, a few daring Daffodils are out IN BUD... some shrubs show tender green... holding, waiting for more clement temps.
These are Spring flowers from bulbs, Yellow pointed Tulips and Blue Hyacinths, a difficult colour to photograph... INTERLACED!
With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)

The Smashing Pumpkins - „1979“
www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aeETEoNfOg
Shakedown 1979, cool kids never have the time
On a live wire right up off the street
You and I should meet
June bug skipping like a stone
With the headlights pointed at the dawn
We were sure we'd never see an end to it all
And I don't even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don't know just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed into the earth below
Double cross the vacant and the bored
They're not sure just what we have in store
Morphine city slippin' dues, down to see
That we don't even care, as restless as we are
We feel the pull in the land of a thousand guilts
And poured cement, lamented and assured
To the lights and towns below
Faster than the speed of sound
Faster than we thought we'd go, beneath the sound of hope
Justine never knew the rules
Hung down with the freaks and ghouls
No apologies ever need be made
I know you better than you fake it, to see
That we don't even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don't know just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed into the earth below
The street heats the urgency of now
As you see there's no one around

This week's theme of the Happy Caturday group is "Bath Time" and when I saw Cleo grooming herself on the lawn, I grabbed the camera to take a photo. Of course she stopped doing what she did everytime I pointed the camera at her. She was obviously telling me that a "bath time" photo of her royal highness was out of question but at least I managed a capture which shows her tongue. :) Happy Caturday !
Thanks to Dan, who pointed out this pair while they were still 100-yards out, I caught them as they flew by. It was five-minutes before sundown and I'd spent around 5-hours, over two-days, trying to get a flight shot of the buffleheads. They're so fast, maybe twice as fast as mallard, that it's very difficult to follow them and get the autofocus locked on. Anyway, thanks Dan.

This young deer walked up to my car's open window, looking for food, and I believe he would have put his head inside my car if I had food to offer him. The deer on Fire Island are technically wild and visible, but the population is also overgrown and fearless. The deer spread Lyme disease through the ticks they carry and there are signs on the road detailing the law against feeding them and penalties. For today's Crazy Tuesday theme of #pointed.
