A Dash 8 leads autoracks off the Old Main Line Sub and onto the Metropolitan Sub. Soon they'll hit the Cumberland Sub.
I took this on point of raocks beach in sarasota florida with a graduated nd filter on a sigma 10-20 on my nikon d80
These are live tracks, but they're at the Point of Rocks MARC station, and this was a cross-over point for foot traffic. I looked both ways and shot quickly.
The daylight helper extra crew from Brunswick yard is being relieved by the B867 local crew on the evening of March 13, 2018 at Point Of Rocks, MD on the Old Main Line Subdivision. Today's power is leased CEFX 1032 and a Union Pacific GE. In the background are the signals for "Satterwhite" which protect the interlocking with the east leg of the wye. On Sept 24th,1988 SD50 8579 leaves the original B&O main at Point of Rocks, MD. It was CSX by this date, but they had yet to ruin everything.

The Point of Rocks Railroad Station was built 1873 by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. It is an historic passenger railroad station and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The last commuter train of the morning, P880, knocks down the Point of Rocks signals, moments away from picking up commuters.
The "eye spots" are missing from this Tiger Swallowtail. Some bird got a bill full of scales.....seems like a very successful adaptation.
