Unlike the shot of the bridge over the river, I kept the color version of this shot. (A different shot, with the setting set to color, as opposed to photoshopping.) I like the composition of the color version more, but I like the grayscale shot better overall, nonetheless.

Point of Rocks Bridge is a Potomac River Highway Bridge, one of many historic, cultural and recreation sites on the Potomac River.

The road/walking bridge that leads to the Point of Rocks entrance to the C&O Canal. Not an especially interesting shot, but I am a sucker for easily defined lines and obvious weight centers in a shot.

The Potomac River serenely flows by green forests lining the Virginia bank, while the classic and graceful Point of Rocks Bridge spans the river.

MARC train 891 to Frederick, MD turns onto the east leg of the wye at Point of Rocks with MP36PH-3C #18 on the front. There is currently no platform on that leg of the wye, so trains to/from Frederick pas through Point of Rocks nonstop.

Point of Rocks is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Frederick County, Maryland, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,466.
