The ancient Carnival held in the village of Podence is one of the most important traditional events of northern Portugal. The strong participation of the local community that has managed to preserve this tradition for centuries and its current importance in the region's cultural events were crucial factors for UNESCO to classify the Carnival of Podence as Intangible World Heritage.
During Carnival, the “devilish” figures of the Caretos - men, boys, women and girls wearing masks and costumes with colourful fringes, with masks made of tin or leather and bells attached around the waist - roam the streets of Podence making lots of noise to disturb the usual peace and quiet of the village.
Originally the Caretos were linked with the figure of the “devil on the loose” and represented the excesses, euphoria, and joy allowed at this time of year, after the cold winter months, while also celebrating the fertility of the approaching spring.

This is the first time I've seen a PODS storage unit in Iowa. World Toy Camera was cold and rainy. I captured it with my Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim camera.
Here's another view of the pod behind us as we climb near the top of the London Eye. This gives a good idea of the size and design of the passenger pods.
Patients are ALWAYS bringing us yummy cakes at the office where I have my oncology rotation. This 15 layer(!) cake was so so good!
This looks a little "2001: A Space Odyssey" to me. Each pod fits 5 people. If you are tall, sit in the seat at the back, you'll have a little more room. The pod ride has been described as a ride in a washing machine. You move up and then across and then up and then across. It's part elevator, part escalator, and part roller coaster. The ride coming down is 30 seconds shorter than the ride doing up, and it feels like it.

El Sistema Integral de Administración y Gestión de Archivos Judiciales (SIAGA), favorece una cultura de transparencia, acceso a la información y rendición de cuentas, señaló el Magistrado Presidente de Poder Judicial en el Estado, Roberto Flores Toledano, al clausurar el Curso-Taller “La Gestión Documental y la Administración de Archivos Judiciales”.
El curso fue impartido a trabajadores del Tribunal Superior de Justicia, por espacio de cuatro días.
Flores Toledano, indicó que con el manejo del nuevo sistema se sistematizarán y digitalizarán documentos que conforman el acervo del Poder Judicial.
En la Clausura estuvo presente el Magistrado Román Souberville González, Consejero Presidente de la Comisión de Planeación, Adscripción y Creación de Nuevos Órganos del Poder Judicial del Estado de Hidalgo, entre otras personalidades.
