Fruit pod and seeds of Hardenbergia violacea.
Although widely grown as an ornmaental and common on mainland Australia, Hardenbergia violacea is known in the wild from a single site within Tasmania. This tiny popualtaion has been confimed to be genetically distinct from the mainland population and is listed as Endangered within Tasmania (pdf).

During our nature sight-seeing trip, we were lucky and saw a pod of Orcas - two females (cows), one juvenile, and one male (bull). My best guess was that they were "resident" orcas (fish eaters) based on the curve of the female's dorsal fin. Our tour guides were as excited as we were in seeing them so early in the season (we were the first visitors of the season).

I have had the honor of knowing Richard (aka "Tricky") for the past 2 years. It takes a unique combination of personal characteristics to teach individuals in an environment as intimidating as an aquatic one. Let's be honest...humans were just not designed to exist underwater. Just look at how we get all wrinkly after just a few minutes in a tub!
Exploring this environment requires the right technology. But, the best equipment is useless without the proper training, both mental and physical. The parents of the participants of the Stay-Focused adaptive SCUBA diving program entrust Richard and the other carefully selected instructors with their children. And, I don't think these parents could have made a better choice.
