This location opened on November 8th, 1990 and closed in 1998.
-I tried finding any info out about this plane, but to no avail. I discovered that there was a B17 called the Duration Plus that wound up crashing in Germany in September 1944, so surely that wouldn't be this plane, would it? I don't know if this is a B17, or another plane that happened to be called the same thing. According to Wiki, the liberation of Paris was on August 25, and on the 26th, there was a big parade along the Champs Elysees, so I guess this could have been a part of this, and then went on to crash less than a month later...
Yesterday I bought a ton of old negatives from a shop in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. The negatives were split about 50-50 between 35mm and large format. Today I started looking through them, and the 35mm ones seem like they're mainly family pictures, but then I ran across a few frames that looked like Mont St. Michel in France. Sure enough, the film was labeled "Kodak France." I started going through the large format negatives, and they seem to be mainly pictures of what looks to be immediately post-WWII France - lots of American soldiers, parades, flags, etc. So, that was a bit of Veteran's Day serendipity for me!
Le XV de France féminin a terminé troisième du Mondial 2014 en battant l'Irlande 25 à 18, dimanche 16 août, au stade Jean-Bouin de Paris. Il s'agit du cinquième podium des Bleues en sept éditions de la Coupe du monde de rugby féminin. Les Françaises avaient déjà terminé sur la troisième marche du podium en 1991, 1994, 2002 et 2006.
La finale de la compétition, prévue plus tard dans la journée, a par ailleurs permis à l'Angleterre de décrocher la Coupe du monde dames pour la deuxième fois de son histoire en venant à bout d'un Canada timide (21-9), qui jouait sa première finale mondiale. Les Anglaises, déjà titrées en 1994, avaient perdu en finale lors des trois dernières éditions (2010, 2006, 2002) face à la Nouvelle-Zélande.
Les Bleues, elles, ne sont jamais encore allées si loin. Cette année, elles ont donc à nouveau perdu en demi-finale du tournoi, dominées par les Canadiennes (18-16), déjà au stade Jean-Bouin, dans ce 16e arrondissement de Paris où évoluent d'ordinaire les rugbymen du Stade français.
Avant leur élimination, elles restaient jusque-là sur trois succès en autant de matchs lors de la phase de poules, à Marcoussis (Essonne), face au Pays-de-Galles (26-0), à l'Afrique du Sud (55-3) et à l'Australie (17-3)
« DES COMPÉTITRICES »
Ce dimanche, leur « petite finale » contre l'Irlande s'est déroulée devant près de 17 000 spectateurs dans cette enceinte qui peut en contenir 20 000. Jamais elles ne s'étaient produites devant autant de spectateurs. Devant un Jean-Bouin habillé de centaines de drapeaux tricolores, comme lors du tournoi des VI nations remporté sur un Grand Chelem par le XV de France, les deux équipes se sont séparées après un match très disputé, où chacune à rendu coup sur coup.
Mais comme en mars, les Bleues ont su trouver une issue favorable et confirmer leur rôle de tête de série pour la prochaine Coupe du monde en 2017. La sélectionneuse des Bleues, Nathalie Amiel, a apprécié ce sursaut d'orgueil : « Je ne suis pas surprise, ça fait un moment qu'on évolue ensemble. On savait que la pilule allait être dure à avaler après le Canada, mais ce sont des compétitrices et elles l'ont montré. Ce n'est jamais facile mais on savait qu'elles allaient rebondir »
La capitaine des Bleues, Gaëlle Mignot (13e minute), a ouvert la marque pour la France en laissant le soin à Sandrine Agricole de transformer, avec un brin de chance et un poteau rentrant. Si la demi-d'ouverture avait sans doute encore en tête ses deux manqués face aux poteaux canadiens, le public parisien les lui avait pardonnés et lorsque Agricole sortait sur civière (29e), c'était sous une chaleureuse ovation.
ET JEAN-BOUIN SE LEVA
Malgré le soutien de Jean-Bouin et une très légère avance au score (12-10), grâce à un deuxième essai signé par l'arrière Jessica Trémoulière (31e) sur un beau ballon à l'aile, les Françaises avaient une période de moins bien en fin de première mi-temps et laissaient Grace Davitt filer derrière la ligne et redonner l'avantage aux Irlandaises juste avant la pause (40e).
La 2e mi-temps était alors rythmée d'une succession de pénalités, ponctuée par un essai d'Elodie Guiglion (46e), et ce sont les Irlandaises qui craquaient les premières. La dernière tentative de pénalité infructueuse de Niamh Briggs (72e), qui dévissait encore, marquait un changement de vent favorable pour le XV de France (20-18) dont le cap était maintenu par le pack tricolore.
Et comme pour mieux prouver leur ascendant, sur la dernière action du match les Françaises préféraient jouer l'essai plutôt que de se contenter de la pénalité... Et l'ailière Guiglion, encore elle, confirmait la décision avec un essai (80e) qui faisait se lever Jean-Bouin tout entier.
Un épilogue heureux, donc, pour ces 26 joueuses françaises, toutes contraintes d'avoir un métier à côté du rugby pour pouvoir gagner leur vie, aucune n'étant rugbywoman professionnnelle. « Lundi il y en a qui vont reprendre le travail, on va retrouver nos familles, annonce la capitaine, Gäelle Mignot. Pendant quelques jours il y a des gens qui vont peut-être nous arrêter dans la rue mais on espère juste qu'il y aura de l'engouement pour les prochains rendez-vous et que ce n'est pas un coup d'épée dans l'eau. »
Et le public du stade Jean-Bouin archicomble pour ces finales (22 000 spectateurs, record pour un match de rugby féminin en France) s’est levé pour applaudir le succès – obtenu avec panache – des Bleues sur l’Irlande, troisième place de la Coupe du monde en jeu. Quatre essais à deux, presque tout est dit ! Dont le dernier (doublé de l’ailière Elodie Guiglion) inscrit à la dernière seconde, sur une dernière attaque, une envie de clore cette compétition par une bonne note.
N'Diaye et Koita en puissance
La troisième place, c’est donc le niveau régulier et constant du XV de France féminin depuis 1991. Elles regretteront longtemps leur courte défaite (16-18) face aux Canadiennes, qu’elles ont concassées en fin de demi-finale, mercredi soir dernier, les Bleues ! Leur mêlée conquérante, leurs ballons portés, leurs percussions axiales dans le sillage des surpuissantes Safi N’Diaye et Assa Koita et leur inspiration en bout de ligne méritaient mieux qu’une troisième place, cette fois-ci. Mais le sort contraire, mercredi dernier, en a décidé autrement...
Guiglion à la sirène
Aux accélérations irlandaises, les Bleues, menées à la mi-temps, 12-15, après avoir inscrit deux essais, ont répondu de la plus belle des façons : en avançant devant et en débordant derrière, avec un doublé de l’ailière Guiglion (47e, 80e), donc, pour s’imposer finalement, 25-18, dans un stade Jean-Bouin extatique. Un magnifique succès d’estime qui va faire beaucoup pour l’avenir du rugby féminin en France, ces prochaines années.

The Stinger Plus rig is an in-line system best used on long shooting days. It features our Studio Baseplate for Canon C100-C300-C500 Cameras which attaches to the camera with 3/8” 16 and ¼” 20 screws. This baseplate features a pair of 15mm rods that are 12” long running through the length of the baseplate. You can quickly reposition the rods for various lens lengths by loosening the 2 levers, one on each side of the baseplate. On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15mm lightweight spaced holes. The side holes take 15mm female rods that are locked via an Allen screw. This gives users a virtually unlimited amount of mounting options. The side holes can be used for an EVF, Zacuto articulating arms, rods and more. The baseplate has standard ¼” 20 and 3/8” 16 holes on the bottom for mounting the rig onto a tripod.
The Stinger Plus differs from the Stinger by including a Zwiss Plate instead of a Z-Lite weight. The Zwiss Plate allows you attach external recorders and professional batteries such asV-mount style or 3-stud gold mount. This is particularly useful for Canon C500 users. The professional batteries and/or recorder act as a counterbalance to balance your rig. The Stinger Plus also comes with one Wireless Plate Proattached to the side of the Zwiss plate to hold wireless mic receivers, small recorders, etc.. There is room for one extra Wireless Plate Pro. When sitting on a tripod, the Zwiss Plate can mount from the rod ports on the side of the baseplate (via two short female/female rods, not included) for better balance.
The Zwiss plate has been tested with the following recorders- Onboard S, Ki Pro Quad. The Gemini 4:4:4, or any other ¼ 20” accessory, can be attached with anarticulating arm coming from the side of the baseplate, attached to a rod, or attached to an empty rod port on the Zwiss Plate.
This rig can be used on your left or right shoulder. With the shoulder pad and Zwiss plate coming directly off of the back of the baseplate, the rig is perfectly in-line and ready to be used with one of our EVFs for traditional ENG style shooting. You can mount your EVF to the side of the rig using our EVF Standard Mount. This rig is compatible with any 15mm accessories. The Z-Focus would be a great add on accessory if you are looking for a follow focus. Our Grip Relocator, which relocates the Canon C100 & C300 grip to our handgrip, can be attached easily and quickly.*
* The Grip Relocator can also be used with the C500. However, the C500 camera does not come with the Canon Grip. You must purchase that separately from Canon.
Pathfinder Plus is a high-altitude, solar-powered, unmanned experimental aircraft intended to explore the possibilities of unlimited-duration, high-altitude reconnaissance. During the 1990s, it conducted 10 test flights, three of which set altitude records, the highest of which was 24,445m (80,201 ft). The aircraft was built under the sponsorship of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization.

Le Babylon Club est l’un des plus anciens clubs de la capitale, dont la première licence remonte à 1904. Aujourd’hui, ce lieu est devenu le plus secret des afters parisiens. Après avoir fait la fête toute la nuit, les clubbers se donnent rendez-vous dans ce lieu cosy qui prend à contre-courant les mœurs des nuits parisiennes. Le « secret le mieux gardé de Paris » n’ouvre donc ses portes qu’aux alentours de 7h du matin, et ce jusqu’à 12h ! Mais depuis quelques mois, le Babylon Club est désormais ouvert en début de soirée, tous les samedi soir, pour la fameuse soirée « Sweet and Love », dédiée à la salsa, à la samba et au disco. On s’y retrouve autour d’un cocktail dînatoire dès 19h, un peu comme lors des afterworks, puis la soirée se poursuit sur le thème des « célibataires » à partir de 22h.
Le club est ouvert de 5h à 12h tous les jours, et de 19h à 2h du mardi au samedi.

Acatus Plus is a version of Acatus electric multiple units manufactured by Pesa. In 2014-2015 total of 13 two- and three-section units (designated EN99 and EN64, respectively) were manufactured which are in service of Przewozy Regionalne and Koleje Małopolskie.
Roll of Ilfod Pan F Plus shot in my Yashica 124G. Trying to practice shooting portraits as I've never been very good at it, and figured I'd try out some Ilford film stock at the same time. I like the film although its a bit contrasty for me. Might just be my processing, but some of them came out alright.
Slip your tired and ruined old dogs into a plastic bin of ice-cold water and decaying plant matter.
Remember not to breathe deeply anytime your face is up close to that disintegrating old plastic bag — nor, for that matter, to the plastic footbath itself — unless you want big lungsful of airborne microscopic plastic particles to disrupt your endocrine system. There is always a thing to have to worry about!
