In the top is a mosfet and the ignition coil. there is also some sort of 'spark confirm' output. Its all potted, so not able to dismantle. Most people say a transistor, and draw a BJT, but seems unlikely to me. Seems like the marked pin 1 is +12V, pin 2 spark confirm, pin 3 mosfet gate drive, pin 4 ground. The output side of the coil grounds via the shroud direct to the plug. There is a suppression resistor in series with the coil output, my guess this is what fails on them....in case of my Audi A4, seemingly every 30K miles.... £100 and 20 minute job to replace all four, and not worry about which one has died first.

My direct flight to Newark from Honolulu was the best (aside from the fact that it was late because the incoming plane was late from SFO): No kids. Very empty (I had the section to myself!). I COULD PLUG IN MY PHONE. :)

We are going to grow some mushrooms! ... eventually. Today we cut down the branches, and drilled holes, and inserted the dowels inoculated with spores, and capped them with wax to protect them from other non-delicious spores.
