Daisy with her Christmas bird, currently a favourite toy. She had been playing but stopped as soon as I picked up my camera. The photo represents her playfulness & her instinct to chase birds even though she's a house cat. Happy Caturday!

The stairwell in our home is open on three sides at the top. This is a favorite prowling spot for our cat. When he feels it's time for more food (always), or just feeling a bit ornery (usually) he enjoys engaging with anyone that passes by. A dive into the open space between the spindles of the railing or a swat to the shoulder on the way down.
A playful Golden Crowned Sparrow I got several shots of last night. I liked this one the best. Such a cute little guy!
These B.C grizzly bears seemed pretty evenly matched in strength.
In case you didn't know Parks Canada says a “no-stopping zone” is in place along a 320 metre stretch of Highway 1A east of Lake Louise, between Baker Creek and Protection Mountain Parkway.
“Stopping is prohibited” signs have been put up along the “no-stopping zone.”
Motorists who stop and look at the bears within their vehicle could be charged a maximum penalty of $25,000.
My best bear shot that I never got was last summer where I was kayaking at a lake early in the morning before the sun came up and over the bank there was a mama grizzly with two tiny cubs. They were eating clover and didn't notice me. I wasn't in a good spot to take a shot but I just sat very quietly and watched in total amazement. Sometimes it is not about the shot.

Red foxes, dune nature reserve, Netherlands. They are considered 'wild' foxes, they hunt at night, but increasingly interact with humans. While most foxes run away, this family is the exception. It is presumed some people feed them although that's not allowed. Like it or not, it's fun to be so close!
