The Labels discount clothing store location on Merivale is no more.

Now it is a Fairweather discount outlet, which I think it also was before it became Labels a year or so ago.

Is it a retail black hole?

I wish I could have seen this at night when the lanterns were lighted.

Maddy Duensing took this lovely picture,a nd I edited. The other day we got left at McDonalds, and were told to walk downtown. Instead we decided to walk to the park. We took some pretty sweet pictures, but I just loved this one the most.

This is me, by the way.

As you look through these photographs of the children of Kabul, notice that they are smiling and innocent, just like the children in your city. They are dressed in colourful clothes that are neither worn nor torn, just dusty (as were the authors' - it is a very dusty city). The children are usually happy to stop (or slow down) for a photograph. There is seldom adult supervision, no plastic toys, no electronic gadgets, no playstructures, rarely a bicycle, though often a kite, yet they are obviously happy and carefree, as all children should be!

Almaden Lake Park is nice for an excursion. We'd never been before. Great play area and some mild hiking.

The overturned, burned-out hulks of these Soviet armoured vehicles serve as a poignant reminder of the long history of conflict that the people of Kabul have endured. They also serve as playstructures.

When it's been more than a fifth of your lifetime since you've last seen snow, it can be a perplexing experience!

I went to Assiniboine Park to visit the Children's Park. It is a beautiful park for the children and I have only seen it in the summer. I guess the only reason I have seen it in the summer is that the park is closed in the winter. I had to climb to the top of the tobbogganing hill to even get some shots of the empty park.

The Stayner Lions club donated a play structure for one of our parks and like all good playground equipment is has to be climbed on. This is one way up.
