A platform in this place that is the highest in Tokyo station.

Originally it was a place made as the Sinkansen use.

Chatham railway station, Kent. 12th August 2016.

The head section of the platform took a bit of engineering. The toughest part was figuring out where the legs go, once you move the seats forward the Element floor was uneven.

This is also where the screw-in Sultan legs came in handy, as we can unscrew the bottom portion of the legs and store them until we are ready to assemble the full platform.

Pulaski Station, CTA Orange Line. (Posting for the Chicagoland Bike & Walk Photo Contest.)

To accommodate the platform legs that are positioned behind the seats (which are pushed all the way forward), we have a couple slats of poplar that straddle the metal rails that the seats slide on.

I wasn't aware that you could still buy platform tickets.

This Stage was 64 inches high and was used as a ski and snow board take-off platform. The extra height gave the skiers and riders a little more speed to ride the rails and perform tricks. Stairs were added to allow an easy walk-up. Extensive cross bracing made the tall stage solid.

Snow was added to the stage surface to allow for a better take-off.

To minimize nest predation by feral cats and humans and improve the reproductive success of the Boa Vista osprey (Pandion haliaetus) population, the National Directorate for the Environment (DNA) and BIOS.CV - Conservation of the Environment and Sustainable Development - have erected several artificial nesting platforms in coastal nesting areas, where low productivity or breeding failure have been rampant in previous seasons. The DNA (through the Directorate for Management of Natural Resources, grants allocated for activities under the CMS Convention) and The International Osprey Foundation (TIOF) have funded this project that was executed between October and November 2014. Cabeólica and CVTelecom are major partners of this conservation initiative that aims at preserving one of the most emblematic species of Cape Verde.

Currently, several platforms that were erected are used by osprey.

R.I.P to those who died in the heli crash off Shetland last week. I'm 100% behind the stand against the Super Pumas. Get our men and women home safe.

Looking south from the old Canadian Pacific platform in St. Johnsbury, VT, the empty platform and tracks fit nicely next to the elaborate station. Passenger trains stopped running through here in the mid 1960s, and even though freight service is still in the area, it seems like this location is lonely an isolated now. The old platform has seen better days, and parts of the depot are slowly being neglected even though the building is still occupied. Those two spots on the left side of the picture aren't railroad ghosts of days gone by, but rather two mist drops on the lens.

A look across to Platform 1 at Gobowen Station as it appeared in October 2008. The Arriva corporate colours are represented by the bright blue bench whilst the wooden canopy structure is rather impressive.

Hmmm. Interesting feet and their shoes I saw last week in Ontario.
