HMS Ocean at anchor during Exercise Cold Response.
The ship's primary role is to carry an Embarked Military Force (EMF) supported by 12 medium support helicopters, 6 attack helicopters and 4 Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LCVP) Mk 5 Landing Craft.
Her secondary roles include afloat training, a limited anti-submarine warfare (ASW) platform and a base for anti-terrorist operations.
HMS Ocean is the sixth ship to bear the name, the most recent being a Light Fleet Carrier also built on the Clyde and commissioned on 30 June 1945.

It has been recently learned this entire section of Chichen-Itza sits on an artificial platform, with many older structures hiding underneath. After the excavation is complete it will be back-filled.
Mainly using steel material, so impression of interior is darkness and cold.

Steve had a new swim platform made out of fiberglass to replace the one that was damaged. Must have weight about 150 pounds. We Managed to get it down on the dock and out to the boat, worked it on the brackets and got it secured.
On 12 March 1988, we see two traditional platform trollies still in use at Hexham; note that they are still notionally allocated to Alston (closed 1976) and Cullercoats (closed 1978 for conversion to the Tyne and Wear Metro)!
Sob.
OK, the last of my train related pics for today, or at all. Another study in perspective - train lines and platforms are great for that.
This beautiful pond and it's platform are a favorite spot in the spring and summer for portrait and wedding photographers. In winter, it is still beautiful...
See below for various versions of the pond....
Taken in the Hidden London tour of Charing Cross's Jubilee platforms.
The Charing Cross Jubilee platforms opened in 1979, originally as a terminus to the line running from Stanmore. Before the platforms opened, a plan was developed to extend the Jubilee line onwards to Stratford; the route meant the line would pass onwards through Westminster instead, leading to the closure of the Charing Cross platforms.
The tour ran through the Jubilee platforms, the ventilation shaft, through to a spoil tunnel that extended out under Trafalgar Square to beyond the fourth plinth (this tunnel led to a shaft where the spoil from digging the station and tunnels was removed).

The train was going to the Raillive event at Long Marston. Thanks to Steve W for the heads up after problems with the class 99 held it at WSH for 40 minutes.
