Pixel Shifted. Detail is quite nice. Still not got lighting properly sorted. This is the same flower as photographed a couple nights ago, it's blooming a little more tonight.

Heaps Canyon, Zion National Park
So we made it to Zion Canyon after all. Here is one of my first shots with my new Pentax K-1, using the Mirex tilt/shift adapter and the Pentax-A 645 150mm lens. I used the pixel-shift resolution feature for this one, and the detail is astonishing.
This plant has the first leaves to emerge in spring in this woodland. They are thin, tender and glossy when new. Having a few weeks to soak up sun on the forest floor before the tree leaves shade them out must be a greatly needed boost.
The Kodak Vision 500T film that I foolishly used in daytime with no filter has been difficult to get pictures out of. The blue goes wild in the shadows, the channel must basically be dropped and then it needs a careful conversion to black and white.
I made a 6x4.5 digitizing mask out of black foamboard to fit over my light source today. While you can sometimes get away with not masking your light well when digitizing slide film or contrasty black and white, with C-41 and its orange base it really causes problems. I'll make a mask for 35mm soon as well.

Taken using the pixel shift technique which resulted in 16 stills being taken and merged together to produce a much higher resolution image.
