Hauz Khas Complex, Delhi, India

Hauz Khas Complex in Hauz Khas, South Delhi houses a water tank, an Islamic seminary, a mosque, a tomb and pavilions built around an urbanized village with medieval history traced to the 13th century of Delhi Sultanate reign. It was part of Siri, the second medieval city of India of the Delhi Sultanate of Allauddin Khilji Dynasty (1296–1316). The etymology of the name Hauz Khas in Farsi is derived from the words ‘Hauz’: “water tank” (or lake) and ‘Khas’:“royal”- the “Royal tank”. The large water tank or reservoir was first built by Khilji to supply water to the inhabitants of Siri. The tank was de–silted during the reign of Firuz Shah Tughlaq (1351–88). Several buildings (Mosque and madrasa) and tombs were built overlooking the water tank or lake. Firuz Shah’s tomb pivots the L–shaped building complex which overlooks the tank.

In the 1980s, Hauz Khas Village, studded with domed tombs of Muslim royalty from the 14th to 16th centuries, was developed as an upper class residential cum commercial area in the metropolis of South Delhi, India. It is now a relatively expensive tourist cum commercial area with numerous art galleries, upscale boutiques and restaurant. Swans and ducks are among the attractions at Hauz Khas Lake - which is part of the attraction to visitors.

A common sight across Nebraska. Much of the soil of central Nebraska is sandy. But the land also sits atop the Ogallala Aquifer, the the world's largest freshwater aquifer.

Typically, a well is drilled and a power source of some kind (propane engine, gasoline engine, or electric motor) pumps water up from the well and out to the pivot. Each "leg" is supported by a tower with two wheels, which most commonly turn via an electric motor on each wheel.

Taken at the Portsmouth Roller Wenches bout at Horizon Leisure Centre. Two bouts between the Portsmouth A Team against the Bristol Harbour Harlots and the Portsmouth B Team against the Bath Roller Derby Girls.

Great wins by both Portsmouth teams.

I was lucky enough to be next to a team member (not playing) who was able to fill me in with some of the finer points of play so thanks to Admiral, hope your stats looked good :-)

Here's a twisted irrigation pivot from a recent storm near North Bend, Nebraska. Kinda makes you wonder how strong the winds were to do this!

Better photo of it, I think I put the wrong one up last time, rookie error. Also dont think the composition is as good on this.

The photo doesn't really show the bank properly but there isn't much run up so to get up to pivot it is insane.

Sorry for two photos with the same angle but i was shooting them both at the same time so couldn't change without missing an attempt on the other.

The Dutch government initially showed an interest in acquiring Apache helicopters in the late 1980s, where it stated that it may purchase as many as 52. A competition held in 1994 against the Eurocopter Tiger and the AH-1 SuperCobra led to the Royal Netherlands Air Force ordering 30 AH-64D Apaches in 1995.

Construction for the order started in December 1997, deliveries began in 1999.

The collection will be made public on September 12th, 2010 so everyone can play around with it. This is just a preview to get your brain spinning.
