Was overjoyed to see the Pitcher Plants were in full bloom....a beautiful flower from every angle.

This photo was taken in a Nature Conservancy preserve in Alabama that contains an enormous colony of the Green Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia oreophila). Click here for the official preserve website from The Nature Conservancy. See my "Coosa Bog" set for further photos.

A fly gets tantalisingly close to a very nasty end in the mouth of this carnivorous plant (Sarracenia - pitcher plant).
