Over the millennia, these branches have become very twisted. These trees are the oldest plant life on the planet and have been growing for more than 5,000 years.

Austrian pine is a medium to large conifer that is native from central and southeastern Europe to western Asia. It grows 40-60’ tall over time (less frequently to 100’). Trees exhibit a dense pyramidal habit in youth. Planted in 2013."

One of 4 or 5 trees laden with Pine Siskins at Elgin Heritage Park. I focused upon low-hanging fruit for a close up, but couldn't find a nice yellow one prior to them all flying off.
