Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Amanda in homage to the American Flag! Celebrating the adoption of the Stars and Stripes on June 14, 1777 (During the American Revolution), the Continental Congress adopted a resolution stating that “the flag of the United States be thirteen alternate stripes red and white” and that “the Union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation.” On June 14, 1877, the first Flag Day observance was held on the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Stars and Stripes. The first 'Flag Day' was created in 1916 but only became known as the National Flag Day in 1949 by Congress.

I've been dreaming up a lollipop pinup for a while now. When Bernadette told me she was doing extreme candy makeup we decided to combine the two :)

Today's airbrushed style pinup photo featured Crystal in this cowgirl pinup! Out in the west, there's some gorgeous sights to see. Stunning natural beauty that will take your breath away and leave you sweating. Oh, and the scenery isn't too bad either. - Trying something new today, added a bit of a halftone printed look to the final image to give it more of a printed document look to it. Might be something I do from now on to the pinups to give it just that much more of an authentic look.

Finishing up the 'Aviation Pinup Series' featuring each branch of the US Military for now... today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Kelsey, the US Army's 82nd Airborne, Army Air Forces, and the famed aircraft that brought the war deep into enemy lines on D-Day... the Douglas C-47 Skytrain! It was a collaborative effort between the Army and the Army Air Force using the military version of the DC-3 airliner to drop paratroopers like the 101st and 82nd Airborne deep into Germany the night before the invasion. With a wingspan of 95 feet, this 18,100 pound aircraft could carry about 28 paratroopers a range of 1,600 miles. A crew of four commanded this 224mph aircraft that would go on to be used by nearly every nation around the world in 90 different countries! This workhorse was a vital piece in many of the Allied missions during World War 2 bringing troops, supplies, towing gliders, dropping vehicles, and much much more into the battlefield. Over 10,000 were built and many went on to be used in civilian use as airliners, cargo aircraft, and much more! This pinup is part of a new 'simple' type of aviation pinup that I'll be doing more of in the coming months using Army Air Force, Navy, and Marine aircraft ranging from fighters to transports to bombers. Each will feature a pinup with an aircraft and the matching US insignia for that aircraft as we go through each branch of the service honoring the pilots and aircraft of WW2. The background will also be themed to the aircraft's color schemes during the war.

It's been a while since the last pinup, hope everyone is staying safe out there! Today's airbrushed style pinup photo features Melissa in this 'fever' themed pinup. While Melissa is used to raising the temperatures of other men who see her, she's found herself suddenly under the weather with her own temperature rising. She's not taking any chances and staying home for the duration of this fever. Stay safe everyone!

Today's pinup is another in the WW2 Propaganda Pinup Poster Series featuring this time Victoria and the US Army Infantry! In addition to many propaganda posters showcasing the calls to ration, buy war bonds, work hard in the factory, keep quiet, and much more; another popular type of poster were those that would promote the different branches of the Military. From women in the military to the different jobs you can have, these posers almost glamorized these jobs as if to be movie posters for real life painted by WW2 artist Jes Schlaikjer. Here, Victoria showcases the US Army Infantry which were the ground-pounding backbone of the US Army bringing the lines further in favor of the allies.

Not Halloween but a reenactment of a 1940s pinup painting from Victor Tchetchet. My wife is doing a MUA course and this themed shoot is part of her curriculum. We gathered some stuff, created a custom embroidery and used our daughter Fleur as the makeup guinea pig.
Shot on the new Sony A7RII with Canon 85mm 1.2L with Sigma MC-11 adapter.
