Con gái tôi được 4 tuổi, mới đầu hè nhưng cháu đã bị nổi nhiều rôm gây ngứa ngáy, khó chịu. Tôi được bạn bè mách nên sử dụng phấn rôm để chống ẩm da và giảm rôm cho con. Nhưng tôi băn khoăn không biết phấn rôm có thực sự an toàn cho con không?

Do thời tiết nắng nóng vào mùa hè làm giãn các mao mạch trên da, tạo điều kiện cho các vi khuẩn xâm nhập gây nên hiện tượng viêm da (hay rôm sảy). Không những thế, khí hậu oi nóng cũng thường khiến trẻ tiết mồ hôi nhiều hơn, nếu không thoát hết sẽ ứ đọng trong các ống bài tiết trên da, khi bị bụi hay chất cặn bã bịt kín cũng làm da nổi các nốt viêm. Rôm sảy thường mọc thành đừng đám và hay tập trung ở những vùng da có nhiều mồ hôi như lưng, ngực, trán, cổ...
Ngoài việc sử dụng các biện pháp dân gian để ngăn ngừa rôm thì nhiều mẹ còn cho con dùng phấn rôm. Đây là loại bột màu trắng có nhiều công thức hóa học pha chế khác nhau tùy nơi sản xuất nhưng thành phần chính là bột talc, muối canxi, muối kẽm, chất béo và một số chất tạo mùi thơm. Đây là một khoáng chất, có thành phần cấu tạo chủ yếu là silicate magnesium ngậm nước, điều chế thành dạng bột phấn. Bột này vẫn được sử dụng trong công nghiệp để làm thức ăn cho vật nuôi, dây cáp, gạch men, mỹ phẩm và trong một số loại thuốc viên không gây phản ứng phụ hay ngộ độc.
Phấn rôm có tác dụng chính là ngăn mồ hôi tiết ra da, giúp da thông thoáng vì thế, đa số các mẹ thường dùng phấn rôm thoa lên da con sau khi tắm xong để giúp da bé khô, không bị ngứa trong mùa hè, hoặc cũng sử dụng khi con bị rôm sảy. Tuy nhiên phấn rôm chưa hẳn hoàn toàn không gây hại. Nếu không biết cách, mẹ bôi quá nhiều phấn rôm có thể làm bít lỗ chân lông của bé khiến mồ hôi không thoát ra được, gây nhiễm trùng da, viêm da, hăm da. Bên cạnh đó, khi chăm sóc trẻ sơ sinh mà thấy bé bị rôm sảy thì mẹ nên để con vào phòng mát, sau đó tắm mát nhanh cho bé thì rôm sẽ hết ngay, việc dùng phấn rôm nhiều có thể khiến tình trạng rôm sảy nặng hơn.
Ngoài ra, trong quá trình sử dụng, nếu sơ ý để trẻ, đặc biệt là trẻ sơ sinh hít phải thì sẽ gây hại đường hô hấp với các biểu hiện ho, khó thở, hắt hơi, sổ mũi, nôn ói, tím tái, lâu ngày có thể dẫn đến viêm phế quản, viêm tiểu phế quản, xẹp phổi, tràn khí màng phổi hay tắc nghẽn tiểu phế quản.
Do vậy, bạn cần cân nhắc cẩn thận trước khi dùng cho con. Nếu vẫn muốn dùng thì bạn cần tránh tuyệt đối không để trẻ hít phải bột phấn bằng cách không cho trẻ chơi đùa với phấn rôm, không ngồi trước quạt hay gần cửa sổ khi sử dụng, chỉ nên thoa rôm ở lưng và mông bé, không thoa phấn gần mắt, mũi. Khi bôi, không nên đổ trực tiếp phấn lên cơ thể bé mà phải đổ một ít vào lòng bàn tay thoa đều rồi mới từ từ thoa nhẹ lên da của con. Không sử dụng quá nhiều vì lượng phấn dư thừa có thể kết hợp với mồ hôi gây kích ức da.
Để hạn chế rôm cho trẻ, bạn cần vệ sinh cơ thể trẻ sạch sẽ, có thể tắm bằng thuốc tím pha loãng, sữa tắm hay xà phòng loại dành riêng cho trẻ em. Cho trẻ ở nơi thoáng mát, thông gió, tránh những nơi đông đúc, ngột ngạt, nóng nực. Quần áo, tã lót cho trẻ nên dùng loại vải sợi, cotton mỏng, may rộng, thoáng, thấm mồ hôi tốt; không nên dùng các loại sợi nylon tổng hợp, khó hút ẩm. Tránh cho trẻ ra ngoài vào những giờ nắng gắt (từ 10 giờ đến 15 giờ), nếu có việc phải ra ngoài vào lúc đó thì nên đội mũ rộng vành, mặc áo quần che kín làn da của bé.
