This tree began growing before man had electricity. 120 years later it has been cut down to feed man's increasing demand for energy

dead pine tree behind a power lines

shot this on the way to starbucks for the "doctors orders walk" walk today.... (my blood pressure doesnt feel any different today.

(Taken During Photo By Design-lines)

This was taken while looking at lines in my front yard. What caught my eye at first was the spiraling line of the vine wrapping around the trunk of the tree. When I looked up to the top of the tree my eye was assaulted with lines going every which way. I decided to shoot the trunk on a diagonal angle because it seemed to give me an image that was easier on the eyes than the alternatives.

I named this image "Controlled Chaos" because the many lines in the image seem chaotic at first before you realize that they are all controlled by the forceful line of the tree trunk. I've discovered that for me lines are overwhelming when I am actively looking for them.....they seem to attack my eyeballs at first....but if I can find a point of control and balance like the tree trunk then I don't feel so overwhelmed by them.

Well if you look in the distance between these pine trees you'll see the top board of a fence. On the other side of that fence...is the road.

It doesn't look like much like a road now...

This path has a faint smell of pine - delicious. Thorncreek Nature Perserve
