Afternoon walk between two (of the three) Venetian bridges in the Paphos Forest, from Tzelefos Bridge to Elias Bridge

Taken along the towpath at Ft. Hunter, north of Harrisburg, PA along the the Susquehanna river. Two ink berry clusters stuck together. Also known as poke berry, poke root and a few others. Scientific name is phytolacca americana. We used to poke the berries with a pin & use the juice as an ink to draw with. Stains anything it touches. Most people consider this plant a nuisance, I find it useful...and pretty.

slightly hazy view through this pine forest, Veluwe, the Netherlands. you can tell that summer's now coming to an end. the light is getting better every day.

Yep, I paid it. The view was nice, but the concrete and steel bridge was a little disappointing. I guess part of me was hoping for an old wooden bridge. Not realistic on my part.
