One of at least 5 similar looking pilot boats operating out of Willemstad. Besides their normal pilot functions, they were seen being used as mooring boats as well as escorting oil tankers to and from the Isla oil refinery. The names of the boats were NC xL, x = 1,2,3,4, & 5.
Note the rugged front bumper.
My Grandfather most likely painted this wall. He traveled around the country painting Bull Durham, Coca-Cola and Wrigley gum ads. I have his logs from 1903 on. This sign was painted in April of 1907. Please take a look at the photo of the sign posted by pelicanwind

A seriously happy guy. A great outlook and a wonderfully kind person. A great hang glider pilot when he's not involved in one of his other 3,642 fun things he does. What a great face.
Recently the Peninsula Pilots (27-29) (Hampton, VA) earned a berth in the Coastal Plain League Petit Cup Playoffs as the eighth and final seed. The Pilots will face the top-seeded Edenton Steamers (44-11) tonight at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, VA. Edenton is also the number one-ranked summer collegiate team in the country, according to Perfect Game Crosschecker. Go Pilots!

too. Plus, he's a whiz with kids.)

My daughter asked me to go with her to the Twenty One Pilots concert. I had no idea what a spectacle I was in for. But she gave me a clue when she told me that at some point there was going to be a burning car on stage. "A BURNING CAR ?????", I asked. Can that even be legal? Sure enough, the performance opened with a burning car on stage. I was totally impressed by the light show, by the fact that the entire audience (except for me) knew the lyrics of all the songs and sang along - even the rap songs. I was also impressed by the creativity of it all and how well done everything was. My daughter tried to get me ready by having me listen to a dozen songs before the concert. I told her that I thought it was good, but it wasn't The Beatles. At the end they brought the warm-up bands out and everyone sang "Hey Jude" together. My daughter was elbowing me in the ribs. I had to admit that they had everything including The Beatles. My one regret was that I couldn't bring a better camera, but there were signs at the entrance prohibiting cameras of any kind except cell phones. As someone who likes photography, you can't let a spectacle like this go. As they say, the best camera is the one you have with you, so I used my cell phone. Wish the pictures were better. It was the best I could do under the circumstances.
This was also the first large venue experience I've ever had where everyone had to pass through a metal detector. An understandable but sad commentary on the times.
