November in the woods means that it's wet and muddy and there are lots of leaves on the ground and less and less on the trees. I think I will clean my walking boots again in spring, cleaning them now is a waste of time. :)

Marley picked up this album for me. It was as good as I remembered.
“Autumn Leaf Pile” — A pile of autumn leaves beneath urban trees.
I walk a lot. Most days I try for 4 or 5 miles, sometimes more. I always carry on camera on these walks. Most times I don’t even take it out of my small pack. But other times I spot something that interests me, and I’m glad I brought it a long. When I came across these intensely colorful autumn leaves, on the ground beneath a group of trees, I stopped and spend a few minutes photographing.
In my part of the San Francisco Bay Area, the autumn color season comes a bit late, likely due to our gentle climate. We don’t see all that many autumn leaves here in October, and then things get started later in November. It seems that this year things are peaking right around the start of December. (I like to point out that I can make my “fall color season” go on for months, from the first hints of Sierra Nevada autumn color in September, to a few trees that still have leaves on New Year’s Day and beyond.)

Designed from the concept "Living as an urban roof" ("Wonen als stedelijk dak"). By building the houses on piles, room was created below as meeting place, parking, playing and common facilities. The building density achieved with this design is four times higher than in a normal residential area.

PŘED 2 LETY: Tato fotka má pro mě punc hlubokého covidu. Celkově mám na ten podzim před 2 lety takový šedivý vzpomínky, nemám pocit, že by bylo nějak více slunečných dní. Po krátkém bláhovém letním rozvolnění covidových opatření se rozjela podzimní vlna. Na začátek toho listopadu vzpomínám také jako na dobu, kdy jsem sledoval s napětím americké prezidentské volby. Také jsem v tu dobu jezdil zácviky na banglích - nutno dodat, že poněkud "vytuněnějších", než je ta na tomto snímku. A protože byla toho podzimu na Žilinské univerzitě distanční výuka, tak jsem si "odskočil" z nějaké přednášky vyfotit si místní manipulák. Střídavě po obdobích jezdí buď 1-3-5 nebo 2-4; tady to byl zrovna čtvrtek. Obecně na tomto fotofleku ten manipulák v letním čase fotitelnej, bývá tmavé čelo; po změně na zimní čas však se může zadařit. Ten čtvrtek bylo poněkud nevlídno po nočním dešti; když se však kolem půl desáté vybralo, sedl jsem na kolo pádil ke Kalousově pile, kde sem tam fotívám. A přestože slunko zašlo zrovna ve chvíli, kdy jsem už slyšel náklad, ve chvíli průjezdu se začalo vybírat. Světelné podmínky odpovídají právě odcházejícímu mraku.

Reconstructions of Bronze Age houses built just off lakeshores in the Pfahlbauten Museum in Unteruhldingen.
These ruined pilings are near the mouth of the Coquille River in Oregon where the river meets the Pacific Ocean. The photo was taken on slide film in 2001 and scanned.
