Il Monviso (3.842 m s.l.m.) - detto anche Re di Pietra - è la montagna più alta delle Alpi Cozie. La montagna è ben visibile dalla pianura per via della sua forma piramidale e la sua altezza di oltre 500 metri superiore ai picchi circostanti. È anche conosciuto perché ai suoi piedi si trova la sorgente del fiume Po, il corso d'acqua più lungo d'Italia.
