Went out last Saturday morning with a few mates to shoot this lone tree on a hill, just outside of Picton.
I've been wanting to try something new for quite a while, and this scene has given me the opportunity to have a go.
This may not be everyones cup of tea, and I get that.

My daughter & son & their children live in distant parts of the country, & lead busy lives, so the times when we can all get together are rare. We had a grand family reunion this summer, & this photo reminds me of something one of my writing teachers said. That every family has its own language -- like a short hand code -- based on shared history & family lore & jokes. So here's my family (almost all of them) with a new family joke, good-naturedly indulging my whim by posing on one of Durango's tilting benches.
The title taken from the old classic song by " The Who " from 1967 ,a few of you may remember it.

In 1999 the British magazine, “The Oldie” published this piece of mine. To this day it is still one of my favorites. It got me thinking that I haven’t been up to a museum drawing the “connoisseurs of art” in a while. So, recently I’ve found myself up at the Musée du Louvre. Drawings to come…….

One of the most famous arches in Arches National Park, in Moab, Utah.
A steep hike -- 3 miles round-trip, & rated "Difficult" by the Park Service -- was required to reach this viewpoint.
