This is Tephritis bardanae, i didn't find a good english trivial name, maybe she has none. In Germany also many of the Tephritinae didn't have a trivial name, this one has, from the plant it lives endemic with, the burdock (Arctium lappa). As any insect that is bound to one plant, she stands for the loss of biodiversity. Everywhere where the burdock disappeared for monocultures the insect disappeared too.

Diese Kletten Bohrfliege lebt endemisch auf und von der Großen Kletten (Arctium lappa). Wo diese Pflanze für Monokulturen verschwindet, verschwindet auch diese Fliege. Sie steht symbolisch für die Mehrzahl der Insekten, die Nahrungsspezialisten sind. Anders als Stubenfliegen, die als Allesfresser den Menschen folgen. Nur auf einen Allesfresser kommen bei den Insekten tausend Spezialisten.

My grandmother Maria lived here. The town is named Ledec nad Sazavou. In the nearby village Lipnice worked in a pub. Served famous writer Jaroslav Hasek. Jaroslav was a big drunk. Here she took my grandfather. Love! War hero from Vladivostok. Bolsheviks killed there. Grandma loved, because the grandmother was a tough woman, as legionnaires in Russia, then got married. Grandfather was a wealthy owner of the transport company. All dreams of prosperity was interrupted by the Communists. Grandpa died in 1967 and my grandmother in 1973.
