Pencil drawing the veins on a Yellow flower.

I was doing some yard work earlier this year and came across someone's long lost toy car.

Yellow Flower for Macro Monday’s Pick Two

This is a Christmas Flowering cactus. Is it red or pink - depends on the light? I'm not sure but it's pink for this week's Macro Monday theme 'Redux 2020'. I've

chosen 'Pick Two' not so much because it was my favourite, but more to do with having a pink flower available to photograph.

It's taken in natural light with pink card behind it. It has been cropped to 16x9 but is otherwise straight out of the camera.

As I was going through the ward looking for something I found this little yellow weed and thought this should do just fine.

Thanks for taking the time viewing my photo, I welcome any feedback you might have good or bad this will help me to become a better photographer in the long run. Thanks in advance.

I have been enjoying my amaryllis plant for over a month now. This was the first out of four blossoms to bloom. Now it's petals have withered and twisted.and yellow, fuzzy pollen dusts my table top. HMM

MACRO NONDAY Pick two

The 1/21/19 theme for Macro Mondays is Pick Two, one from a list of descriptive words and one from a list of nouns. So, I picked damaged glass.

Iridescent, twisted, glass toy.

It is a small ghost pendant made by Chien Nie from Lithops Studio. She makes beautiful and delicate pottery,

The pendant height is about 0.75 in.

Macro Monday Pick Two Theme-- Curved Pottery

I've missed the last couple of Macro Mondays challenges and thought I better try harder this week. Fortunately we have been having a massive clearout and I came across a few of my mother-in-laws old paperweights. The challenge for this coming Monday is called “Pick Two” and the rules are quite simple. They have created two lists of words, “List A” and a “List B” and placed 5 words in each list. You will select one word from List A and one word from List B and then take a macro image illustrating the combination of your two chosen words.

List A

1. Iridescent

2. Fuzzy

3. Twisted

4. Damaged

5. Speckled

List B

1. Glass

2. Toy

3. Candy

4. Plant

5. Abstract

I've picked "Iridescent Glass". The paperweight is quite strange. In strong light it is just red but vary the light and the iridescent transparent coating takes over and 'moves' around the surface displaying the gold, pinks and blues that you see above, over the red bubbled interior. Some of my favourite colours in there! What a beauty! (and only 2.5 inches diameter)

For Macro Mondays Pick Two Curved Pottery. A headpiece that broke off a clay face mask purchased years ago in Costa Rica. Lit with a mix of ambient light, red-filtered flashlight and a LED bulb inserted into the piece where it was broken. Resting on a vest.

A small copper stone that came from Copper Harbor in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. A small part has been cleaned and polished

This is considered "float copper" pieces of this can be picked up when found.

Volcanic activity produced the only strata on Earth where large-scale economically recoverable 97 percent pure native copper is found.

Much of the native copper found in the Keweenaw comes in either the form of cavity fillings on lava flow surfaces, which has a ”lacy” consistency, or as "float" copper, which is found as a solid mass. Copper ore may occur within conglomerate or breccia as void or interclast fillings. The conglomerate layers occur as interbedded units within the volcanic pile.

No idea where this little truck came from but I've had it for years. It's a French breakdown truck but alas it has broken down. From it's missing light on top to the paint chips and missing tow cable it;s fair to say it has seen better days. Oh well, at least its condition meant it got to be showcased here :-) HMM!
