I am totally uninterested in anything I have to say....!

Anyways.....Aurora was looking likely tonight so I headed up to Druridge Bay with www.flickr.com/photos/g_star182/ in what can only be described as the worlds worst courtesy car. The pedals were too close together, the brake didn't work, it barely reached 30mph, there was a funny rattling and the headlights only lit 3 feet in front of the car. But we made it! Shame there wasn't anything to see tonight. At least I got some upper body work out in trying to three point turn a car with no power steering...

The country observes two minute's silence to mark a week since the Christchurch earthquake. The death toll currently stands at 155 but is still expected to rise. Louise and I are on the street when the time comes so stand quietly with everyone else.

Recipes

Frozen Ingrid - (Only makes a small amount of Ice Cream, can easily be doubled)

250ml Milk

250ml Double Cream

2 Eggs

65g Caster Sugar

80ml Hello My Name Is Ingrid

Instructions

1. Combine Milk and half the cream in a saucepan and scold.

2. At the same time mix the egg yokes and sugar until pale and creamy.

3. Once milk is heated, pour onto egg mixture and mix.

4. Pour back into saucepan and heat on low heat until thick. Do not boil!

5. Leave to cool.

6. Once cool, add the rest of the double cream and beer to taste.

7. Pour into ice-cream maker if you have one, otherwise just into a tub and stir every hour or so.

This makes a surprisingly tasty ice-cream, possibly my favorite!

'Alice Porter Snaps'

50g Butter

50g Sugar

2 Tbsp Golden Syrup

50g Flour

1/2 tsp Ground Ginger

25ml Alice Porter

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 180C

2. Melt butter, sugar and golden syrup and cool a little.

3. Add everything else and mix.

4. Pour onto lined baking tray in little blobs.

5. Don't put the too close the really do spread!

6. Cook in oven until golden brown all over. Probably longer that you think!

7. Leave to cool for a couple of minutes and shape as desired.

I think with a bit of tweaking more beer could be used to make the flavour stand out more. Maybe loose the ginger too.

'Alice Porter Caviar':

1g Sodium Alginate

1.5g Sodium Lactate

100ml Low Calcium Water

50ml Alice Porter

Instructions

1. Prepare setting bath: Dissolve Sodium lactate in 50mm of the water. Stir to dissolve entirely.

2. Add the sodium lactate to the other 50ml water and mix with a blender.

3. Add 50ml of Alice Porter to the sodium lactate solution and stir well.

4. Pipette drops of the Alice Porter solution into the setting bath and leave to firm for about a minute.

5. Use a slotted spoon to remove the pearls and rince them in fresh tap water.

Use immediately.

Quite fun as they burst in the mouth and you get a hit of Alice Porter :)

I learned my lesson. Took my photo first thing. Here I stop in the middle of Oxford Street on my walk to work, to snap a photo looking east towards Tottenham Court Road. The Christmas balls are still hanging, but sadly they no longer turn the lights on, and at night its rather a sad sight to see them hanging in the darkness.

I'm still suffering from the lack of available light and having to work during the day. I took my camera out at lunch today but was so engrossed in the company (the lovely Shelly Goldstein) I forgot to take any photos. I will either have to get out more at night with my tripod, or commit to taking a bit of a stroll with my camera around at lunchtime.

I'd like to take more portraits this year, I think. Maybe I'll finally find the courage to shoot a portrait of a stranger in the street...

Day 2! I know it's only day two but I am really enthusiastic about this project. check out my photos on instagram @simplelullaby . Also, if any of you have instagrams let me know. I would love to follow you.

Domenik had a great time at nanny's showing off his new brace. He's smiling here, I wish he'd smile a lot more and be happier when it came to actually sleeping in it!!!

Historic All-Ladies Leadership of The Florida Bar's Environmental and Land Use Law Section 2011-2012 - Chair Martha Collins, Chair-Elect Erin Deady, Secretary Nicole Kibert and Treasurer Kelly Samek - at the Annual Meeting at the 2012 ELULS Annual Update

GOOD CLEAN FUN - "A Song For The Ladies"

Don't settle for second best, don't follow all the rest

You say you want the same things well let's put it to the test

Because talk is so cheap when you are screaming at a wall

And it is really hard to hear when you're the loudest of them all

If you want to change the world, quit all your yapping

If we don't start it here, well then it's never going to happen

There is evil in this world but it begins right at home

So let's clean house, then let's cast the first stone

You think equal rights means equal hits

(We're sick of all your tough guy shit)

As you leave the show with the people you've hurt

(You wonder where you left your shirt)

Your a big tough guy and your dance moves are great

(Strong as an ox, dumber then slate)

Your new tattoos they look first rate

(You wonder why you can't get a date)

Sexism sucks! It didn't end in the 80's

And hardcore still needs another song for the ladies

Girlfriends are great, please don't get me wrong

But it's time to put down that coat and come sing along

Because I can't hear your voice from the back of the crowd

Move to the front, and shout it out loud

Keep your eyes on the prize, you know what I mean

If we can't change the world, then let's change the scene

Second class kids in the scene where we all live

I'm angry as hell, but I still stay positive

We'll fight this fight and I know we can do it

If there's a wall in our way, just watch us go through it

Because it's time to realize that we're all in the same boat

If you think you're so tough, then here, hold your own coat

Get it through your head that I don't want your chivalry

Get it through your head: I'm not here for you to fuck me

Times have changed, but you would never know

Not from looking at the people and their places at a show

So raise your voice, join the struggle for equality

My dream for the scene, one word: UNITY!

April 28: Delicious

This was lunch. May not be pretty but it was delicious. Sometimes I eat cookies and sometimes I eat colorful stuff. These are the meals I often make when I cook for myself and tell everyone else they’re on their own. (They're pretty much always ok with it. 😂)

Went to see Precious at Plymouth Arts Centre. One of the exhibitions was The Pigs of Today are the Hams of Tomorrow which included a reading room with its very own library cards.

I Feel... (Hungry)

Steak and Shake Inc. purchsed this Giant Foods outlot from Malone and Hyde in early 1977 and opened for business shortly thereafter. It's visible in all it's Steak and Shake glory in the assessor's 1981 lo-rez aerial photo. Ez Pawn took over it appears in 1988 and added on that massive addition at some point. Those windows on the left side might (just maybe!) be original to the structure.

Since this photo was taken these plums have sacrificed themselves for the greater good and ended up in a crumble!

It's a BRIGHT morning making my heart glow.

JETS TO BRAZIL - "Morning New Disease"

morning new disease charcoal in bed

boansoaked anemic listen in horror

to the scraping of flatware and china

and saran wrap to stifle libido

air shaft a chasm their lives flung open

sickness is a time for hating your neighbors

in their milk flats with five kids too many

having day sex because they're all daughters

and you're thinking the same two things

over and over again

I am dreaming of a life and I am dreaming of waking up

there's this anger rising cancer in me standing like a wall between

the waking world I seek and this infected plane of sleep

love come like an axe to all this ice and set me free

there's a black rewarding book

beneath this stiff sheet if you look carefully

noise police white hearse tv air wave methadone

diet contact safe sex antibiotics

for your safety we've taken sharp objects

it's their object to keep you from waking

taste test serenade we dig the grave

lose weight astrologically no money down

for your enjoyment we've excised the dialogue

for your protection we've installed a camera

just keep thinking the same clean thoughts

and keep telling yourself it's allright

I am dreaming of a life

and it's not the life that's mine

in a stolen car I rocket west out past that Jersey line

and the robots in their riot gear glimmer in my rearview mirror

love came like an axe and had her way with this coarse earth

and a small deserving book she was recovered and understood

and I awoke
