Smile on Saturday: Photo Collage

This is a series of pictures taken just before sunset in what I can only call a magical place. It has nothing spectacular, apart from this location, with the sea across the road and Mount Canigou, our "sacred mountain", which dominates the lagoon and is particularly stunning when it's coated in snow. There is also an fishermen's village that was recreated, and a small observatory to watch the wildlife (mainly cormorans, seagulls, and flamingos far away). But the place itself could almost be seen as a little drab... except that there is a little something that makes it incredibly appeasing. It has a quiet, soft beauty, and it's like it has a positive, calming energy. Many people go there for quiet walks, or to run, walk their dogs, take pictures, meditate... and gather to watch the sunset, which imbues everything with a golden light and makes it all both stunning and, again, really appeasing. It is truly a special place.
