Julie is a Creative Director at MMdi, where I work. She got these wonderful flowers from her secret admirer!

Actually, that's my creative license running away with the story... she actually got them from her devoted and (obviously) trying to make up for something husband. Just speculation of course – perhaps he's just an incredibly romantic individual.

of making phonecalls & writing letters

I planned this T.

I had to look good today. So i needed 1 of my favourites.

They had to film me. Talking about beer.

Talking about bockbeer especially.

A 2-minute item for on internet, release right after the start of the Bockbierfestival.

But then I got a phonecall last night.

They had taken my mother to the hospital. Cardiac arrythmia.

Still I had my T planned for today.

1 Of my favourites.

& Filming me should also go on.

All those things that go on although they are in a different rhythm.

This T is lucky.

Despite the dire predictions of 16+ hrs, I tihink it took an hour or so to restore 150GB :) Was so glad that I'd taken that backup.

Amazing service at the Apple store. Took it in Sat lunch, was seen within an hour without an appt, then got a phonecall Sun eve to say it was ready! Picked it up Mon eve. Was brilliant. Well done Apple.

New HDD, new HDD Controller (which they think is the cause of the crashes) and new keyboard (coz my E key came off). Very shiny.

I love the way she pronounces the fruit! Great accent!

It can take 20 years to hear the scream.....

After a period of exactly 20 years from 2001 to the release date of August 23rd 2021, Iron Man Records is pleased to announce: Redshift - Discography 1997 - 2001. A collection of 24 Songs across 4 releases that have been lost until now.

This collection of Redshift recordings represent many years of searching, emails to nowhere, and phonecalls to dead numbers. Iron Man Records has worked hard to bring these lost recordings down safely from the mountain of madness. The Discography comprises all the salvagable Redshift recordings to date.

Redshift played the Old Railway in Digbeth many times. I organised the shows and Rhys did the sound. Every time the band played they turned the heads of everyone in the room. I used to love watching this band play. The music took my head off. If anyone has any old flyers, photos or pictures of the band, or it's members, please get in touch.

Last Under The Sun played it's first gig on 9th October 2001, at Manhattens, Hereford, UK with Eggraid and Redshift. The night marked the beginning of a lasting friendship between all three groups. The effects of that night, and watching Redshift play can still be felt today, 20 years later.

The singer and guitar player at the time, Wub Wainwright, said in an email to me recently:

"It's not easy listening, but I hope there's some value in it somewhere. I felt a bit like I was psychoanalysing my younger self! Seemed to work, as I've got a lot of new ideas. As always, no pressure or expectation on my part, just hope that you get something from the nonsense I send you on occasion!

I really wanted to say thank you so much for your patience with me. When we first chatted again after all these years I was in the least creative place I'd been. It's really helped, while gradually scratching back to the surface, to know that there's a purpose to the words and music. All thanks to your support! I can't thank you enough for having some belief in it all... So much appreciation, and serious respect for all you do with Iron Man Records.. You're the finest type of madman! Enjoy the Redshift stuff if you can."

So make of all this what you will. Enjoy the recordings that have finally been brought into the light after 20 years. There will be more new music from Wub Wainwright to follow. There are a number of Wub Wainwright recordings already up and available to listen to, I can recommend Lights of The Lost.....listen up.

Amusing ourselves while mom struggled to pay for a shirt with a debit card at a fair in the middle of a field...

It took four times as long because between the field, the actual shop and the phonecall to them something went wrong, had to be undone and redone.

And it wasn't exactly warm by this point.

All Saints at Thurcaston is a mainly 14th century building with alterations made in the 15th century, from which period dates most of the fine collection of fragments of medieval glass deposited in the central light of the east window. Some of these ancient elements of glass are more complete, including heads, angels, roundels and a donor figure.

The church consists of a nave, chancel and west tower, along with a north aisle running almost the full length of the building. The interior preserves a more unspoilt, ancient atmosphere as it has not been too heavily affected by later restoration. There is an ancient wooden screen in the north aisle, originally the rood screen and one of the earliest surviving in the country (alas I failed to realise this at the time so do not have detailed shots of it). The nave roof is supported on some amusing medieval carved head corbels.

The church is well worth a visit but sadly kept locked outside of services so a phonecall may be necessary to see inside.

Street Photo Collection: Phone Call #5

Skip took these after I spent an hour combining two tracks after the boys went to bed. I set up all of the fun 'extras' that we couldn't play with until now (due to choke potential). I love having kids for so many reasons!

#146/365 - May 26th, 2014. Phone call.

Today is amazing(ish)

Went to drop my acceptance letter off at Queens this afternoon and then went for a walk around Botanic gardens with himself

good luck with placing that emergency phonecall

Mum opening presents and cards, receiving lots of phonecalls, other residents singing Happy Birthday and of course the obligatory trip to Carindale shopping centre for coffee and bits and bobs for tea and the family BBQ tomorrow.

Day 45

This morning I got a phonecall from my mom telling that grandpa was in hospital again. On my day off I took care of couple of things and than went to see grandpa. He almost died this morning because he couldn't breath and had a lot of pain, don't know how much more physical and mental suffering he can take... at least he was very glad that he had a visitor now. I stayed with him the whole afternoon, chatting. He was very hard to understand because of his dyspnea (kortademigheid).

Oh well, after that I didn't quite know what to take a picture of. It wasn't important at the moment.

Luckily I came up with an idea at diner and took a quick shot...

Don't forget to take a look at Mark's picture of day 45

Honestly, you can take photos of anything and at the right moment it can look good.
