Phone Selfie with a green beetle's help. Not a great insect picture (I know what Flickr people can do) but I loved how beautiful it was!
I was going for a moody piece here. I shot it and re-shot it about a dozen times. Dennis had been showing me a bunch of shots he had taken using only the natural light, and I thought I had better get in the game. Generally the only natural light I use is the sun - outside. I used the top of my head as a reflector to redirect the light toward my hand and the phone.
This was a little room under the projection room in an abandoned theater in Buffalo.
I only used the limited amount of light that was already entering the room in front of me.

This last week has been about the telephone- not specifically this phone, but the phone line which has been not working, working intermittently, and now it appears, working.
BTW, this phone was in our kitchen at home for all of my life and still works fine- in fact better than most new ones!
Book Review: This book is the epitome of "nice". You know how you know, when someone says about someone else that they are nice, that they may well be "nice", but if that's the best someone can say, they are probably also a bit boring and not someone who will really add much to your life? That is this book to a "t". Arthur, the protagonist is very "nice" and is constantly being insulted, rejected, made fun of, taken advantage of by his"friends", relations, ex-wife, contemporaries and even people he barely knows. He appears to have two true friends which it takes him a year of the book to figure out and only barely stands up for himself at the very end, not by telling some of these others what assholes they are, but by avoiding the situation and being polite to the end. Excuse me, but there are times to lose your temper and stand up for yourself and this may well explain why I am single. I would fall asleep over dinner with this man, no matter how nice he may be. Final judgment: the word "boring" spring to mind.
