The Marton - New Plymouth Line branches away from the North Island Main Trunk Railway in the middle of New Zealand's Northern island. It follows State Highway 3 in Western direction towards Whanganui and then to Hawera in Taranaki, where a large factory of dairy cooperative Fonterra is located. From Hawera the line curves North to the port of New Plymouth. Traffic on the line has dwindled in the past but presently consists mainly of dairy products from Fonterra and intermodal freight to New Plymouth. Before the break of dawn on the sunny 15th of October 2018 KiwiRail's DFB's 7049 and 7077 led train 526 away from Palmerston North and have now reached Eltham on their way to New Plymouth.

The Other Mohawk Crossing. Amtrak Empire Service makes daily trips over the Mohawk River over 2 different bridges from Schenectady, New York, but not on this bridge. As part of the process of requalifying crews over this territory for contingency planning, CSX Train P939 with AMTK 130 (Phase II, P42DC) leading is seen heading from Pattersonville, New York to Hoffmans, New York on the morning of Thursday, June 29, 2023. This span is normally only used by CSX freight trains.

Springfield, 30 October 2014 - The haulage of coal has been the main reason for the existence of the Midland Line, which connects New Zealand's South Islands's East and West Coast. At the Western end the line officially starts in Greymouth. Coal trains have long gone from this port town, since the mining activity has moved on. Nearly all coal carried by rail presently originates from Solid Energy's Stockton mine, situated near Ngakawau further up North. The laden coal trains enter the Midland Line some fifteen kilometers East of Greymouth via a junction at Stillwater, after descending along the coast passing Westport, the Buller Gorge and Reefton. From Stillwater the 1,800 tonne trains travel South via Moana and Lake Brunner to join the important East-West State Highway 73 at Jacksons. From there the climb over the New Zealand Alps truly begins. Following Jacksons, Otira is reached, where the two locomotives need help from three bankers to drag the heavy train through the Otira Tunnel. Here the Midland Line gains 250 meters in height over 8.5 kilometers. The tunnel was electrified for long, because the build up of carbon oxides would make the working of stock and personnel impossible. Today the diesels are cleaner (and in the case of the DXC rebuilt to scoop up fresh air from underneath - hence the 'extension' on the long hood) and there is a huge fan at the Western end of the tunnel supplying it with a fresh supply of oxygen after the passing of each train. The coalies see daylight again at Arthur's Pass, at nearly 750 meters above sea level. After detaching the bankers the journey is continued via the Cass plateau, after which the trains descend back to sea level towards Springfield. From there the Midland Line crosses agricultural land to connect with the Main North Line at Rolleston. The coal trains continue their journey via Christchurch and the Lyttelton Rail Tunnel to dump their loads at the port.
Bad weather the previous day saw a lot of snow being dumped on the Alps. DXC's 5195 and 5520 have just left the mountains behind when they pass Springfield with train 848 from Ngakawau towards Lyttelton. A fresh load of coal from the Stockton Mine is almost at its destination.
Hello, guy´s the AT-RT is my favorite Star Wars Walker.
This vehicle will be included in many moc´s/scenes from me I hope you enjoy it!
I´m really proud of to share this with you guy´s,
but I took a lot of inspiration from Deltaforce Medic on YouTube.
A late-running Amtrak train no. 4 made it possible for me to get out and photograph it near Topeka with not just one, but two heritage units on the point! The Phase IV no. 184 is on the point, with the Phase II no. 130 second out. It was a dreary day, but I like the way the rain is seen bouncing off of the puddles on the ground.

My first attempt at a somewhat serious animation in quite some time. Overall this took 2 months to film and edit and has been in planning for well over 7 years. I have only recently been able to gain the necessary figs and sets to complete this animation to my liking. Now that it's completed I plan on taking on some more comedic projects that are easier to produce. Expect many more animations this year from me.

Springfield, 28 October 2014 - Every day the famous TranzAlpine travels between Christchurch on the East Coast to Greymouth on the West Coast. On its 223 kilometer journey, the popular train traverses the New Zealand Alps via the Midland Line. This engineering marvel is characterized by the numerous tunnels and bridges, of which the 75 meter high Staircase Viaduct is undoubtedly the most well known. It was thus not surprising that (then) New Zealand Railways in 1987 launched the TranzAlpine as its first offering specifically for the tourism market, when it needed an alternative for its dwindling regular passenger service. The service was revamped and since then operates only out of Christchurch, where a larger tourism base is available. This means the far majority of travelers presently start and end their journeys in Christchurch, using the same train. For long the TranzAlpine was operated using revised New Zealand Railways carriages, of which the oldest dated back to the 1930s. Since 2012, however, passengers are seated in modern New Zealand built AK-carriages. With about ten of these carriages (and an observation car), DXC's 5477 and 5310 have left the bad weather in the mountains behind, when they descended back to sea level with train 804 from Greymouth to Christchurch.

As said before, I wanted to see what the pattern would look like if I did all the same folding steps of the "Kathy Flower" on one side. This is "Phase 2".
I did the closest distance and then it turns out to be more related to the second one in "Growth".
You can see it "here", if you want. It's the second column.
Phase 1 looks like this, a whole field of "Swirling Stars".

The Phase 2 heritage takes the lead of Amtrak 8 as it descends Shortline Hill on the CP Merriam Park Sub. It’s running two hours late but that helped the shadows clear away. This unit recently got a new paint job making me want to catch it even more. So finally got the chance on this day.
"I need a medic over here! Medic!"
- Unknown Clone trooper
Kix was a Clone Trooper Medic who served in the 501st Legion.
As a trained medic, he cared more about the welfare and livelihood of his fellow troopers. He also believed that when it came to the health of his comrades, he outranked them.
You can see more details about how the ARC Trooper helmet was made in my blog: protagonist4hire.blogspot.com/2015/05/making-phase-ii-arc...
Amtrak's Phase II Heritage Unit leads an eastbound #4, the Southwest Chief, through the crossovers in Bristol, IL, while BNSF 7046 waits in the distance at the head of a manifest train. This could be December 31st, but no, it's actually October 31st. Record-setting snowfalls blanketed much of the Midwest on this Halloween day, with many parts of the Chicagoland area receiving in excess of 4 inches, and some up to 7 inches. This is the first time that there has been measurable snow of any significance in the Chicago area since record keeping began.
UP 4835, a Phase 2 SD70M, leads a brand new Siemens SC-44 Charger from the Washington State Department of Transportation and the Amtrak Cascades south through Colorado Springs, CO.
This one was a surprise, no doubt heading to the TTCI near Pueblo. I'm not sure why, though, as Chargers have been in service with Amtrak Cascades for a while. Regardless, it's something "out of the ordinary" for the Joint Line...
