Common Wasp (Vespula vulgaris).
Wasp nest removed from a bird box, photographed a couple of days after it was treated by pest control as the wasps were causing a nuisance on school grounds.
The nest contained the queen wasp and many workers including all stages of development from eggs through larvae to adults about to emerge from their papery cells. Some of the larvae were still alive.
Here you can see the layered comb structure of the nest which is constructed of wood pulp and saliva which the wasps have made by chewing on wooden objects (they can't make wax in the way that bees do).

Subterranean termites make tubes from soil particles, saliva and feces. These tubes protect soft-bodied termites from dessication.

Ok, not really. This dude was supposed to drill holes into the ground to insert some poison, but instead, he drilled right into a water pipe. Et viola! Instant Bellagio fountain show in my apartment! This erruption went on for 5 minutes before the water was shut off. My computer, phone, and other appliances were killed as a result, not to mention the carpet, furniture, and other small stuff.
The sad part is, I HAD another flood last year! My water heater exploded while I was on vacation in Taiwan. And I probably got the termites because of that last flood! What is wrong with my apartment? Should I get a fire place put in to balance out the water?
Snails are not something you would normally expect to find in the desert, but they're here. This Decollate Snail was out patrolling my sidewalk the morning after some rainy weather. These snails are voracious predators of other snails and slugs. They are Mediterranean natives and were introduced here as biological control agents against the brown garden snail, which is considered to be a serious, plant eating pest. I've never found any brown garden snails around here so apparently this introduced predator is doing its job. - Phoenix, Arizona

This hawk is used at Trafalgar Square, London, UK to keep away the pidgeons. Very interesting concept. I enjoyed watching it flying around in front of the national gallery.
These bugs were hiding inside of a desk. They were right where the pullout for the keyboard was. Although this picture isn't the clearest, there were bugs, and eggs hiding in thes area, and they are both outside and under the white metal piece.

The Toadflax Brocade Moth (Calophasia lunula) is native to Europe but was intentionally introduced to North America in the 1960s in attempt to control yellow toadflax (Linaria vulgaris) and dalmatian toadflax (Linaria genistifolia ssp. dalmatica) in places where these exotic plants are considered noxious weeds.
I saw this caterpillar on a wooden post and watched for over an hour as it built a cocoon by chewing up pieces of wood and placing the chewed wood around itself until it was completely enclosed.

Rats and rodents are considered to be one of the filthiest animals found in the planet. Rats are known to carry unwanted viruses and diseases which can be a health hazard for humans, both children and adults. Rats and rodents are very unsanitary, and they can contaminate your home rapidly if they are not extracted on time. These pests typically attack the attic and can multiply in numbers fast. While living in your home, they will urinate and defecate just about at any place convenient for them. Rat's are attracted to insulation because they can burrow under them and hide.
Wild animals such as raccoons, skunks, or even opossums were once not often present or seen in city or urban areas. With less and less land for wild animals to reside in, it is no longer uncommon to find them breaking into attics and crawlspaces of a home. Wild animals trespassing into homes are usually there as a place for security to give birth or provide a safe place for their offspring. It's highly advised that when you are hearing unusual noises in your attic or have witnessed wild animals at your property to have them removed immediately. Wild animals can be aggressive and dangerous to the residence of the home, especially if they are protecting their young.

Glue traps are useful monitoring tools that can also be used to eliminate pests. However, traps should be replaced when they are no longer effective, and when accurate pest counts cannot be made.

Desiccant dusts such as diatomaceous earth can be used to kill bed bugs when applied to cracks and crevices. As the insect walks over the dust, it either scratches the exoskeleton, or absorbs it (silica aerogel), which both lead to death from dehydration. For it to be most effective, dust should not be applied in large clumps, and should be used only in dry areas.

The only way to prevent mould growth is to eliminate its’ water supply. This means waterproofing your basement, sealing all cracks, installing fans to remove water vapor, venting dryers outdoors, etc.
Dead rodents can be host to decomposers, such as flies. Here, a dead rodent has provided a meal for several flies, as evidenced by the brownish-red pupal cases.
