I spotted this beautiful ironwork in Perth, Scotland. Love so much of the Victorian detail still around this lovely city.
Perth station slumbers through a signalmen's strike day in 1994. Mind you, it looks like this all the time.
Perth on the 16th of August 1980 and Class 25 25065 is waiting to depart on the 10.14 service to Motherwell which comprises a mixture of Passenger and parcels vehicles.
I often used to catch a Carlisle to Perth service that left Carlisle at about 20.40 when on Scottish rovers at about this time and am wondering if this is the return service as the consist is similar.
25065 was new as D5215 to Toton in July 1963. It was a Haymarket Loco at this date and was withdrawn from there in February 1981. It was moved to Swindon Works via Kingmoor and cut up there in February 1982 (thanks Derby Sulzers for info).

Found this spot in Kings Park the other day & thought it would make a great night time view of the city! Shame that about 50 or 60 others had the same idea!
Standing taking this shot with multiple flashes going off as others try to take this scene with compact cameras, phones & iPads!!

Lightning at Perth airport, December 2011. I'd just returned from Darwin and hadn't seen much storm action. On arrival in Perth we had to remain in the plane on the tarmac for an half an hour whilst a storm passed overhead. At least I got to use my new lightning trigger and snapped my first daytime lightning. Through the planes window!

26.033 drifts into Perth. The gentleman on the platform appears to be wearing a tartan suit, this was clearly de rigeur for the time which meant l must have been underdressed.
Perth on the 20th of January 1964 and with a Bristol Lodekka in the background we have Class 40 D233 Empress of England.
The 40 was new in september 1959 and a Crewe North loco at this time. Also in view is Stanier Black 5 44959 which I know was a Perth loco much earlier in life and guess it may still have been in 1964. It was new as 4959 to the LMS in May 1946 and withdrawn in July 1965 being cut up a few months later.
