"Dear New York,

You are in your subways, where your earbuds whisper softly to each other. Where you are rocked to sleep, gently as the trains move, and you are part of some great everyone. So you are a city that walks on top of another city, a city of people dreaming, you put your foot down on dreams when you cross the street, your children play, on dreams. You go to work each day, on layers of moving dreams. You are pieces of life from subway to skyscraper. And I wish you could hear the way your voices sing like I hear them, but you can't anymore than I can hear what my voice sounds like. None of us have accents inside our heads. Our voices and words are water and tasteless and colourless because of how much of them we drink.

Only other people can hear what we sound like. Tonight, thank you for being those other people New York. "

Just an idea that's been running through my mind. Midterms are approaching and I'm dying already trying to keep up with reports and presentations and god knows what else in life. AGH.

A solar arched prominence envelops the earth (super imposed for scale) with ease.

And it's not even considered a big prominence.

While walking along the busy coast of Hawaii, I spotted this simple lonely boat. I had my camera set up to shoot in posterized black and white that day, which is an odd choice for Hawaii I know, but it's shots like this that make it worth it. In those days, I would set up my camera differently every day before going out to shoot. This would force me to look for specific things that would look good with those settings. It was a kind of forced perspective, albeit a meditative one.

This image was taken in JPG using only the settings in my camera, there was no post-processing or editing.

I thought this looked like my shadow falling across the straw bale, but the sun was low and my shadow was really long. In reality my upper body forms the head part, the bale's shadow is the arms and torso and the legs are the much closer part of my shadow

Matchbox-type toy Ford Taurus seeming to fit in a much larger parking space. At Bertera Subaru in Hartford, CT.

I tried to get the background as sharp as the Sharpie, but if there's a setting on my camera that can do that, I couldn't find it.

Little different perspective of a popular landmark you all might know here in the Pacific Northwest. I intentionally left this a little dark and mysterious. I hope you enjoy it.

Critique welcome.

Taken in the morning as the sun was coming over the dunes. At first I was disappointed with the two guys in the scene. Then they moved to be right in the bright line and it also gave a perspective of the size.

Do you 'see' broken ground or a solid place to step... Do you 'see' torn up old concrete or beautiful lines and shadows... What do you 'see' when life isn't shiny and polished? Do you focus on the broken or the beautiful... The choice is ours.

Once again, the city refused to transition to the metric system and misread cm as feet.
